So my hair has finally stopped falling out for the most part and new hair is growing in like crazy. THANK GOD.

I tried this product called Toppik which helped hide the baldness. I have to admit that I was super depressed with how much hair I've lost but this did help. It's tiny fibers that you just sprinkle on the thinning areas, almost like sprinkling spices. It doesn't run or anything like that if you get caught in the rain and it lasts the whole day.

They have different colors so I ordered the travel size first to make sure the color was good and then I ordered the regular size. It might be a little pricey but I didn't care. I couldn't deal with how badly my hair was thinning.

When you go on the site make sure you click the product on the top left that says "Toppik" because there are other products on there as well.

Check it out! Spencer Forrest : Toppik

I'm fascinated by this. I have thin hair to begin with. In January, I saw the doctor (gyno) who first recommended WLS to me, and told her I'd gone through with it. She had been through it herself.

Anyway, she look at my head and said, and your hair will come back, too. I said, I haven't lost it yet. She said, OMG, you're going to need a wig when you do!

Actually, I do think I've had some thinning (I'm more than four months out), but not what others have described.

But this is a product I could use!

Yeah this stuff is awesome. I had posted a thread about it a few months ago. My hair loss is finally slowing down but it was all right past my hairline on my forehead and really obvious. This product has been a life saver. Can't sing it's praises enough.

I have something which is very similar called nanogen fibres. I guess it is the U.K version of Toppik. I had thin hair from diabetes and PCOS anyway so after surgery I did lose a lot more and was very very thin on top. Im just lucky I had fair hair so it wasnt as noticeable.
This stuff hides the shiny bits you can see where my hair is so thin.

Does this run - like if you were caught in the rain? Or how about heavy wind? I've seen this advertised before and I've always been intrigued by it.

Nope they are like little powder fibers. They sell their own brand of hairspray to "set" them but I have found any kind of hairspray works. They key is to just not use too much of the powder.

I thought you are suppose to take biotin so you won't lose as much hair? Ayone else take this? When did you start taking it? My surgery is scheduled for June 15 :D Should I start taking it a month before?

Toppik is not something you "take" for hair loss. It's just something that hides the thinning and/or bald spots spots. I've had 2 weight loss surgeries and I took everything (including Biotin) to help stop the hair loss but nothing worked. You can take Biotin and some people do think it helps and some don't. It's just a fact that people who have WLS lose hair. It's temporary but there's really nothing you can do to prevent it. So I just used Toppik to help me feel a little by hiding the really bad areas.

Same here Lana. I started taking extra biotin a month before surgery. I never lacked protein except for maybe the first week or so. And I still lost a ton of hair. I think it's like dumping. It will either happen to you or it won't.

Mine is now coming back in too though so I am happy about that.

I know that happy feeling. It's also a major relief. I'm tramatized by the whole thing because when I take a shower or just run my fingers through my hair I still expect to pull out globs and globs. I never thought it was going to stop but then I started seeing the little hairs and oh boy was I happy. I guess it's just another part of the journey.

Oh thank you so much. I am ordering it today. I don't have any really bald spots yet but My hair is coming out really bad so it will just only be time before I need it. I am giong to buy the travel size like you did just to make sure I have the right color.

Also, Do you know if you can color your hair while it is coming out. I am going to get it cut this week, but was wondering if I could color it? One of the hair dressers I called told me not to perm it right now.

Thanks
Mary

Some people don't color it, but I had to. I can't stand the gray! I usually get highlights too but that I didn't do. I wouldn't perm it if you don't have to. That and the highlights have too many chemicals. You'll be happy with the Toppik. It's not magic where it covers everything, but it really did help and made me feel much better.

I am so excited about this product that I just bid on a trial size on Ebay. I already have thin hair on top and have been really nervous about losing more hair after surgery. Thank you, this is why I love TT, great advise!

I tried Toppik and although it did help hide my thin spots, it can be messy. I found this product on QVC and I swear by it.

Joan Rivers Beauty Great Hair Day ® Fill In Powder w/Brush - QVC.com

It took a few times to get the hang of applying it, but for me, it works better.
