I have arranged to take some time off at the end of August and I am looking for PS recommendations in the San Diego area. I'm not interested in getting a full body lift, just an extended tummy tuck and I have a budget of $9000.
If anyone can share in the area can share the surgeons name, website if available, and total cost I would appreciate it. I might be willing to go to Tijuana if the surgeon is reputable. Thanks in advance for all your help :)

So I looked at several options with 3 surgeons and I decided on Dr. Sarosy.
For a standard tummy tuck he charges $5195. I also got a quote on an extended tummy tuck and it was $7000 but both the dr. and his assistant really didn't think the extended was necessary.
I also got 2 quotes from Mexico and Dr. Quiroz quoted me 10,500 for a body lift and breast lift with implants. Dr. Fuentes quoted me 9475 for an extended tummy tuck with lipo and a breast lift with implants. Both the Mexican drs required you get your own lab work and that you stay in a recovery center or hire a private nurse to stay in a hotel with you in baja california. I just didn't want to do that, however, I will probably get my boobs done there because the lift with implants alone is only $4200 and in the US I was quoted $6500.
Anyway, my tummy tuck is booked in San Diego on 08/27/09. I'm so excited!!!!

Dr. Sarosy completed my tummy tuck six months ago and I'm extremely pleased. He removed seven pounds of skin. I shopped around and went to three diffrent consults. I'm glad to have found Dr. Sarosy. The surgery was no walk in the park, but the results are dramatic. I'm saving now for a lift with implants. He quoted me the same price as he did you for this procedure. (6500) He's reasonable, but professional. His staff is also great. I can't say enough good things about his practice. He also gives you true expectations. Just know that everyone is diffrent. I'm just now completely satisified with my results. It took the full six months for my swelling to subside. A month ago, I was still walking around thinking that my tummy should be flatter. But now, I'm estatic.

Hey Sweetie,
I know you've already made your decision, but the PS guy I had was unbelievable. His skill is good, staff is great, has a surgical suite right in his office, and is completely dedicated to his patients. I developed a seroma, and he had me come to his office on Thanksgiving morning to drain me. Being in the medical field, I had several quotes, and he had me give him the lowest one, and beat it by like $3000!
Here's his numbers, for those anticipating plastics in the near future:
Dr. William Umanskiy
1-858-550-9697
4150 Regents Park Row #260
LaJolla
Plastic Surgery San Diego - Cosmetic Surgeons La Jolla
If anyone wants to 'name drop' to help get the best price, my whole name is Donna Cooper, and I had the surgery 11-4-2002. Breast lift and tummy tuck.

Thank you for the referral. I'm still going to get several quotes for the Breast lift and augmentation so I will keep Dr. Umansky in mind. I feel more comfortable going to somebody that I've received a personal referral from :)

My dentist had Dr. Bill Umansky (SENIOR, not his son) do a breast reduction and loved him.
I just had my 1 yr surgical anniversary appt with my GBP surgeon gave me three names and descriptions:
Dr. Scott Barttelbort ("The Humanist"), http://www.drbsandiego.com/
Dr Munish Batra ("The Technician"), http://www.coastalpl...r-munish-batra/
Dr. Diana Breister-Ghosh (Good female surgeon) http://www.plasticsurgeryisforme.com/
Looking at the websites, Dr. Batra seems to have a ton of experience with WLS patients and procedures.
Here's a great article he wrote: http://www.coastalpl...ed-approach.pdf

I had my tummy tuck on Thursday 08/27 and everything went fine. I actually feel great though I can't stand up completely straight yet. I was going to take 2 weeks off to recuperate but I'm soooo bored that I'm actually going to return next week on Tuesday and work 4 hrs a day for that week.
I get my drains out tomorrow so I should be able to post some pictures then. I think the results are pretty good from what I can see thought. I can't wait to see what it will look like in 6 months once all the swelling goes down.
If anyone is looking for a good, reasonably price cosmetic surgeon in San Diego, I highly recomment Dr. Sarosy.

Hi. I was just wondering how the pain was for you? I would love to get a tummy tuck next summer. Ur surgeon seems very reasonably priced and he also has an office here in Temecula. I can't wait to see your pictures and hear more about your experience both pre-op and post op. Thanks for sharing..

How are you doing now? Everything healing alright? So, if I can be a bit nosy, how much did it end up costing you? I'm in the process of saving up so that one day I can get some plastics too.

Was that everything for 7000? That seems very reasonable. Glad it all worked out. I was surprised to find out it takes 6 months for the swelling to go down. Wow.
