I had my surgery on Jan 21st. It went great. However, they also removed some scar tissue and fixed a hiatel hernia. I think that is how you spell it. Anyways, things were going really well. Until I developed tonsilities three days after. It was pure misery then! Thank god for antibiotics. I am not a cry type person. And well everyone saw me crying until I got that medicine in my system.

So, it has been 14 days since surgery and I am down 13 pounds according to my scale. Only 7 according to the doctors. Which when I weigh myself it is in the morning before I shower so I am butt ass naked too. I prefer to go by my scale of course..:p

I expected to lose more weight than that. I guess because I am only eating three times a day. Not snacking. And it is small amounts. I am on the creamy foods stage right now. And I know that mashed potatoes arent good for you. But, it seems like all I can really handle good. I did start the protein shakes in the morning. Hopefully that will boost my metabolism soon.

I am hoping to lose more weight sooner. Cause this last week I havent lost anything. Which is discouraging. But, I am holding on.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything I should be doing differently? I am starting to feel hunger as well. But, have not caved into it.
:p

....and welcome to the losers bench. Dont sweat the weight loss on a day to day basis. Just "weigh-in" and record once a week. Like you, I weigh every day but they are just spot checks. :D

You lose water weight at first then the fat loss catches up. but 14 lbs is great!

Well wishes for a speedy recovery. I just started regular food today!

Hey ... congrats and welcome to Bandster land !
If your loosing now That great !!!!! They say when your at the 'healing' stage dont expect to loose ..
Normally we do ... but its not to be taken for granted !
Your prob feeling hungry now due to the swelling going down and thus makes the band loose (hence we then have fiils)
Keep drinking and just keep your mind busy !
I was on a MONTH  of liquids after surgery ..
Its tough but has to be done ..
No pain ... no gain :)

Best wishes and If I can answer any Q's ref the band just yell x
Best Regards

I keep telling myself that..no pain no gain. And I am busy. I have four kids with a husband deployed to Afghanistan with the army. It is at night when I find myself hungry. And I won't eat after 6pm. So, I either call a girlfriend to chit chat with or go to bed early with the kids. I feel great. I dont even feel like I have anything in there. You know? I am ready to start exercising and so forth. But, I understand the healing process. Thank you so much for the support..I am gonna really start pushing more water. Do you drink protein shakes in the morning? If so do you feel like they are helping? I started drinking them but they upset my stomach.

You are doing great and congratulations! Just take it one day at a time and try not to weigh yourself too much, I know it's hard, I struggle with it too, but trust me it's best to leave the scale alone and just stick to your program.

I have to admit..I get on that thing every morning. It is so hard not too. But, I guess I just expected to lose a little this past week. One or two pounds. And have lost nothing. But, thank you for the support!
