Nausea during eating and drinking

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm Liz and I'm new here, this is my first post.

I'm 8 days post op, band revision to gastric bypass, and evey single sip of Liquid I take and some food that I eat (I'm on stage 2 liquid right now) makes my stomach hurt and curses nausea.

At my one week post of appointment last Tuesday I told the doctor this and he said that its common with some band to bypass patients but it's starting to really concern me.

Anyone else have this happen? Why does it happen and when when when will it stop!!

Thanks everyone

Although I cannot answer your question, as I never had a band, you may find lots of useful information in other postings on this board - such as this one:

Hang in there. It should get a lot better. :)

Have you tried warm drinks (I like Celestial Seasonings herbal teas)?

They can often be easier to get down than cold ones.  Even now, a sip of anything colder than room temperature causes me a lot of pouch discomfort.

I was having terrible nausea even this far out. I have tried peppermint tea and peppermint hard candies which do help. The other thing that helps sometimes is ginger tea. Otherwise I rely on zofranZofran
