Sleeve to Bypass

6 posts in this topic

Looks like i will be going to bypass end of June.  Found out yesterday that there is nothing else that can be done to fix my sleeve. Only option is to go to bypass.  When they went in for the scope they said my sleeve was "Spiraling". I guess it was folding in on itself and that has been causing all my issues.  Once they scoped my it unspiraled and it opened up like it should be. But unfortunately the only fix is to remove the sleeve.

I'm glad that you have an answer to your issues and that it can be fixed with a bypass.

Do you happen to know if your surgeon put in the extra staples to prevent that spiral/twist?  Just curious cause I know mine mentioned that - that he puts like 4 extra staples in down the length to help prevent spiral/twist.

Not 100% sure. I ended up leaving the one that did my sleeve and found another surgeon at a better hospital.

Sorry you're going through this, but glad they found a solution, even if its not an ideal one.
