HI,
I just thought I would start this thread so we could gather information from each other, compare notes and support the process. ANy other RNY ers out there?
I am PRE op but would love to hear from anyone with any RNY info.

Default Vanderbilt program in TN- support group requirement
I dont know if anyone here is going through Vanderbilt program for the RNY.
Vanderbilt requires documentation on support group participation.

The participation does not have to be an "in person" group, it can be an online support vehicle, Such as a forum.

They want you to bring them a communication log if it is online. So a conversation log on a question you have participated in is proof.

Is anyone else fulfilling the support group requirement this way?

I actually went through my program in Paducah KY but I live in TN just alot closer for me an we had the 6 month diet thing which was also a support group of sorts. I am 2 weeks post op so if you have questions ask away.

I had Gastric RNY at Vanderbilt in April. Dr. Richards was my Doctor. I also did an online support group and turned the paper in. So far that is all I have done. It is so hard to find a support group. The closest one to me is in Spring Hill, but half the time they don't even do it. It is a lil far for me to go to the ones at Vandy,but i'm sure I will have to attend them soon. If you would like to talk further please send me a post.

I just wanted to let ya'll know I normally go to the shelbyville meeting lead by Tammy because I SO LOVE HER ..she is the best friend you could ask for.. so I drive 30 some odd minutes just to be in her group....

Sorry a year later and I finally answer... I actually live on the KY TN border it is closer to go to Paducah rather then Nash or Memphis
