Snow skiing in your new body
Mammoth Mountain (7hrs. car trip from S.D.) just got dumped with 4 ft. of snow and will open this week!!!!!!!!!! I know that there are bound to be a few skiers out there (or want-a-bees) that can't wait to hit the slopes in their new bodies! Where are you? I bought a season ski pass for this winter and plan to do weekend trips up there. I'm looking for people to share the trip with. Email me privately if you are interested. I plan to join the San Diego Ski Club again so that I can stay in their lodge's dormitory rooms for $20/night, making it a reasonably priced weekend. Skiing is fabulous there, especially compared to the L.A. mountains. So make this the year that you get off your butt, take a risk, and LEARN TO SKI. See you on the slopes!
Perhaps you haven't yet learned to snow ski and decided that this is the year! Come take lessons!

Skiing
Sounds like great fun, but....
Since I am pregnant and not due until April, I don't think this is the year to learn to ski. Maybe next year

My hubby is taking us to Jackson Hole in Jan to ski and do winter things. I'll get plenty of time to learn then!

Don't let friends or relatives teach you to ski. Take the beginners package that includes a lesson. All resorts have beginner packages that are quite a bargain and usually include ski equipment, lift ticket, and lessons. You'll have a blast!

Thanks for the 411, I had no idea there were "ski packages"! Cool beans! Something new to learn this year, aside from surfing and knitting!

No clue
Nope, never done it. It's 20 years since he did. We did buy our own ski boots. I want my feet to be real comfy. They are really stiff, so I can imagine how uncomfortable rental boots can be. We'll definitely take the beginner's package. I'm not risking my life with some amatuer teacher
