Saturday Morning Walks Redux
Hey guys - anyone interested in finding a common area to meet on Saturday mornings? I really miss the walks, and even though I've been jogging, just getting together with you guys is a mini-support group in itself. So, let's try to find a place that's central to North County and Metro San Diego (maybe Lake Miramar?) so that maybe we can lure Christina, Stuart and other North County residents to come down and see us!
Please post your preference as to location, time, etc. Here's some locations that may work:
Walking:
- Lake Miramar
- Mission Bay
- Lake Murray
- Mission Trails
- Balboa Park
Hiking:
- Torrey Pines State Reserve (relatively easy)
- Elfin Forest in Escondido (moderately difficult)
- Cowles Mountain (difficult)

Barbara
I would be up for getting together and walking or hiking either one. I'm in Escondido and I wanted to go to the walks that everyone used to do but they were just so far for me. I'm now willing to drive any where in the county for support and good excerise...LOL
Let me know what you come up with.

I would love to go, but I'm already tied up every Saturday morning. I go sheep herding with my dogs and husband. Now that's quite the workout!

Barbara,
I love the idea! I have a fondness for Miramar Lake because I used to roller skate around with my daughter in a stroller while I was on Fen Phen.
The only thing that would keep me away is my Saturday mornings and afternoons are pretty filled with soccer games. Both kids play. The season ends mid December - count me in.

I'm In
That is a great idea Barbara. Stuart, however, works Saturday Mornings so he can't make it. But I would be up for it so long as I don't work the night before.

Karen
Karen,
You know I seriously may be up for something like that.. Of course not EVERY Saturday.. but wouldn't mind a bit doing it as a once in a while thing.. Cause I love my friend and I miss her.. and heck sometimes my life is so crazy.. a nice drive would do me good..

Now that I opened my big mouth....
Okay - this Saturday's out for me because I need to help my sister move. Then, next Saturday's out for me because I'm running my first 5K! WHOOHOO! Then, the next Saturday will be a girls weekend with my sisters when we're going to Magic Mountain (Whoohoo again!). Then, the next weekend is Dia de los Muertos, and I'll have to be setting up my installation at the crack of dawn.
So, I'm a jerk for bringing it up, but if the North County folks (Christina and Tonya) are willing to drive down to Miramar Lake, then perhaps the group can get started without me and I can join you guys later? Since it's not so hot, maybe we can start later, like around 9am? That way nobody has to be up at an ungodly hour? What do you guys think?
Oh, and Karen - I'd walk to Yuma to be with you Miss you, cutie pie!
