Default Online Bridal Shower!!!

Hi Everyone!

If you haven't heard, Denise (Bypassingme619) got married!! Denise and Jason were married on January 9, 2006. Since they did not have a Bridal Shower or a Reception (yet) some of us thought it would be a great idea to have an "Online" Bridal Shower.

Denise and Jason are registered at Target. If you would like to help wish them a happy beginning in their new marriage, please feel free to go online at Target.com and send them a little somethin somethin. If you go to the top of Targets page you will see a link called Club Wedd Registry. Click on this and type in Denise _______ (please PM me or Denise for her last name) under Find A Registry and it will bring up Denise and Jason's wish list.

I personally love the Gift Card option on the registry. It saves on shipping costs. They didn't have this when I got married!!

Another thing some people do at Bridal Showers is to give the bride a new recipe from your personal "recipe box"....so let's all send one to Denise so she can have some yummy ideas to feed the new hubby...of course she won't be able to eat as much, but she can try a bite!

Denise and Jason, I wish you all the happiness in the world!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Talking OMG, I So Excited

Cindy that sounds really good. Trust me my husband will eat just about anything, mainly if it has chicken in it. He has gained weight since I have had surgery because he finishes everything I don't(gotta love a man who loves to eat ).

I want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has sent their blessings my way. I am blessed to have such a great circle of friends to support me in my happy and not so happy times.

Default Denise, you deserve the best.

You have been a strong support for all on this forum. You have educated and supported me from the beginning. I wish you all the luck and enjoy your gift. I have not found any food recipe that I actually like yet, but I think a recipe book is a great idea.

Denise,
Wow girl, I am so happy for you! Congratulations on your marriage; it sounds like you snagged one heck of a guy and we all know how lucky he is to have a sweet, intelligent, wonderful and sexy gal like you!! I just got a bonus from work so I'll be shopping for a little somethin' somethin' once I get home from surgery, but in the meantime, here's my favorite chicken recipe (since you said Jason loves chicken!)

Soy Lemon Skillet Chicken

1 lb Chicken pieces (boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs work best)
3/4 c. water
3-4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. lemon pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
1-2 tbsp. red pepper flakes (depending on how hot you like it!)
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. olive oil

Heat the olive oil in a pan and quickly brown the chicken pieces over high heat. Remove and drain off oil. In a separate bowl, combine water, soy sauce, and spices. Replace chicken pieces in the skillet and pour soy/spice mixture over the chicken. Cover and cook over medium to medium-high heat for 7-8 minute intervals (turn chicken over every 7-8 minutes) until fully cooked (takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the thickness of your chicken pieces). Remove the chicken from the skillet, reserving the sauce. Pour 2 tbsp of lemon juice into the reserved sauce and reduce (let the sauce thicken) over high heat. Serve the chicken with the sauce, or pour sauce over rice and veggies (or do my personal favorite: when you're ready to reduce the sauce, drop in some frozen veggies, recover the pan and cook over high heat until the veggies are cooked. They soak up the juice and taste SOOOOOOOOO good!!)
