I have made it to HOTland!
Hello friends,
Welp, I have internet up and running and we are almost settled into our new place here in Phoenix!! It is looking great and things are going good. I lost 5 more pounds just between the move from San Diego to here, in like 4 days!!! I was totally shocked when I stood on the scale and it read 211!!! I have lost a total of 102 pounds! I just can't believe it! It amazes me and I am doing very well. Trying to get used to my new envorinment and schedule...I have to keep reminding myself to take my pills and vitamins but I know it will be habit in no time. Big changes and it is ALL good! I have found a WLS support group here that meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, very near to my house. I hope to go next month. I will let you know how it goes.
How is everyone?? I am trying to catch up on the posts but there are a lot of them so if I miss some, I apologize!!! Miss you all and hope you are well!!

At least it's a dry heat!
Glad to hear all is going well. Don't forget to always wear sunscreen, even if you're only going outside for a moment. AZ gets 360 days of sun a year!

Karen,
I'm glad to hear that you are getting settled in. Wow, 5lbs in 4 days! Must be that dry heat and all the lugging of stuff! It is nice to see your face on posts again. I'm glad you found a support group close by. We know how important it is to have that support. Looking forward to seeing you in October.

Hey Karen,
Isn't it Monsoon season in Phoenix? Have you seen one yet? They are sooooo cool to watch!
Hey Bridget,
You'll never walk alone, as long as we're here for you.

Yep, you missed the bulk of monsoon season. It generally runs about 6-8 weeks starting mid-July. Then it's bone dry the rest of the year. Unless it's an El Nino year. Back in '83, there was statewide flooding in October that was enough to close down schools. It even snowed on Christmas Day I believe in '85. Then it was 82 degrees later than same day! You'll have to visit Sedona and Flagstaff. It's so gorgeous there. Then there's all those ghost towns to explore. Mt. Graham is a beautiful place to go camping. There's one spot that you can see out across half of New Mexico on a clear day. Just watch out for the cacti!
