Flushed Face?
I am going to the doctor on Thursday, but wanted to get some ideas from you all as well.
I tend to ALWAYS have flushed cheeks. I thought maybe it could be rosacea, but I'm 22 and it's just a flush - no bumps or acne or anything. My cheeks are hot to the touch. Any clue what could be causing this?

If you had just started taking multivitamins or a B-Complex or additional B3 (niacin) or changed to a different brand of multivitamin, I'd suspect the niacin as the culprit - it's not uncommon for people to experience a flushed face with that stuff.
Some seem to metabolize niacin quicker (the compound is nicotinuric acid) and that causes the dilation of teh skin capillaries and that's why the flushing.
Have you changed your cleanser, cream?
Sorry, not much of a help but it's all I can come up with. Other than to send you a cyber hug...

I don't have any blood sugar or blood pressure issues. Well, I didn't before surgery, but I'm getting my bloodwork done Monday.
I am taking my ENS vitamins and switched recently to Philosophy skin care, but I noticed the flushing started before that. It may be the vitamins, but I seem to stay flushed most of the day, like I have a constant sunburn.
Thanks for your help ladies

I will be interested in seeing if anyone knows this. This happens to me whenI do a lot of walking . Does not stay all the time but it can be embarrassing. When I was at my heaviest, it was worse. When I am out in the sun very long my face turns beet red.

I've had this problem chronically for life -- even when I was thin. I have had a bit of rosacea, too, but that's something else. I've always assumed my flushness was genetic because of my father being a very fair, carrot-top redhead.
One thing that is helping is Aveeno's Ultra-Calming Moisturizer. But I doubt my problem will ever go away.

I flush as well, but suspect mine is due to hormones - it comes and goes accompanied with a very hot hot feeling - and even my ears become very warm and red. It passes after about 15 - 20 minutes, but is very noticeable - my daughter has watched as I get redder and redder and the skin is very warm to the touch!

My face also gets very red when I exercise (and stays red for a while). I always just chalked it up to thin, pale skin.
Would be interesting to see what else causes this.

I've had this problem for years. It got worse with my weight going up. It's calmed SOME with the weight coming off, but it is a problem. They treat me for Rosacea, but nothing seems to help. It's one of the reasons I decided on WLS - I got frustrated not being able to get the weight off and was just sure this is why my face was always so red.

Ok, I am like that as well and it's not rosacea. My doctor told me it was sun damage. I haven't been out in the sun since my mid twenties but apparently I have done the damage. And my skin type is fair and sensitive. All those years we played outside in the sun without anything like sunscreen.....
