TMI question about extra skin/dating
I am just curious - for those of you who are like me and have an "apron" of extra skin - does it affect your love life? I am so afraid to start dating again, because although I feel sexier every day and every pound lost, I worry so much about that "surprise"'s effect on the significant other.
Has the extra skin been a huge problem? I don't want to have to guard myself just because of it!

I think Baja will attest to this... No man is going to care about your imperfections when you are standing naked in front of him. If he does, point south and start laughing at him, that will shut him up.
I thought men cared about this, but they honestly don't. It is scary what they don't notice.

I'm not dating (been married for 23 yrs) but I KNOW that it hasn't negatively affected my love life...quite the opposite since I've gained confidence in myself. And I think if you radiate confidence...that's all they're gonna think of...well, that and the obvious!

Gotta agree whole-heartedly with jersey (and baja) on this one! Men do NOT notice the imperfections we have...they'll notice what THEY like (butt, boobs, thighs...whatever THEY are attracted to!) and as long as you "make them happy"...all is right in their world!

I have been engaged for almost 2 years. Been with the guy for almost 3. They dont care! They might act like they do. As mine, Will constantly remind me of the "extra skin." I will remind him that he isnt so perfect either. See, I have lost 106 pds. He has GAINED 50-60 since I had my surgery.
We all have our imperfections and no ones perfect.

Im 3 months post-op, and 60lbs down, so I don't quite have the skin yet. I talk to my partner about what he'll think about it when it comes and he smiles and laughs and says he'll probably like it, that it'll be "neat" and he'll probably piss me off by touching it.

Skin can only be an issue if you allow it to be
I am seeing someone that cares less. It is mine insecurities about it that bothers him. He touches it or whatever as if it was any other part of my body. He even tells me that he doesn't ever want me to be worried about that with him.
Granted certain outfits seem to mask the skin issue and make me feel more comfortable and I am more conscience about the choices in clothing I make, but dont worry about it.
IF it is an issue then he isn't worth your time.
I was up front about it in the beginning when I knew we would be taking that step to where he would 'see' it and I was surprised at how much of a non issue it is for the right person.
They see the sexy confident you and not the skin issue
