I like the Carlsbad Flower Fields, and they have an awesome outlet shopping center there as well. Its gorgeous. For hitting the beach you Coronado is where its at!

Drinking: 3 sips of wine will give you a hearty buzz for sure! Yes, only after 3 sips!

Default The San Diego Zoo

I can't believe that no one mentioned it. It's the world's greatest zoo and they have a new panda bear too! Just on the other side of the coronado bay bridge. Sea World, seaport village and the embarcadero with the Star of India. If you like sea food, Anthony's is there and very yummy. You could ferry from there to coronado too. Balboa Park with the museums, etc. I think they are free on the third tueday, or something like that - they are on the web. Great point Pam, it's really hot right now, but, what's really hot when you're from Texas? lol The list goes on and on. Have fun!

Balboa Pk is so neat, you could almost spend all your time there. The architecture, the museums, the zoo (my fave place) is wonderful. Buster's in Seaport village has great food, and walking around the shops is a great way to work off dinner. Have a good visit!

Umm, Tijuana is IMO downright oppressive - I can't take the little kids' begging and that "Come see, senior" hassle you get just tryin to stroll down the sidewalk. What with the hour to get down there, hour to get back, and all the time standing in line to get back in, I wasted almost a full day for about 2-3 hours of shopping. No real bargains, just a couple of trinkets and a small piece of quasi-dispoable luggage. Was worth going once to experience it, but probably not worth going to TJ again.

I've been down around the La Jolla cove area and that was really nice. We had brunch at some little cafe set up in the hillside and had an awesome view of the ocean while eating. We're going to try to find that again.

Anybody else ever been up to see the cross on Mt. Soledad? Or the lighthouse at Cabrillo Nat'l Monument? We did those last time and feel in love with the views.

Thanks for the good tips everyone!!

Rob

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Maybe next time you will come when we have something planned and you can meet the forum.
