Default Gall Bladder Surgery!

Greetings,

I haven't been online as much as I would like lately as I have felt downright horrid the last month or more.

I had my Ultrasound this morning at 9am with a follow-up appt. at the surgeon's office shortly thereafter.

It's official! My Gall Bladder is shot! They found some kind of sludge build up in it from the massive amt of weight I have lost. The build-up is causing the gall bladder to malfunction and my liver hasn't been taking over the duties of the GB. I guess it's pretty bad cause they wanted to get me in today or first thing in the morning but the surgeons are just swamped at the moment. They did get me scheduled for first thing tuesday morning. I am having a Laproscopic Gall Bladder extraction and my 3rd Scoping/ Balloon dialation on my throat. It's outpatient so I dont need another hospital stay ...WHEW!

Im actually rather relieved that my Gall Bladder was bad cause they said once its out you start feeling better by the next day

When my gall bladder came out, I did indeed feel better immediately. Much, much better. And it was a relatively easy surgery for me, too.

That's about the same length of time post-op that mine started causing problems.

You'll feel a whole lot better getting rid of it.

Lap Gall Bladder is pretty easy. You should feel better once it's gone. If they are saying sludge and not stones, that's an even better diagnosis! Sludge usually is gone when it comes out, but stones can hide on ya and give you problems later.

Best of luck! I hope you feel 100% better real soon!
