Default Breaking Out - Freaking Out

Okay, here is my situation! I had gastric bypass in dec 2008, i have lost 110lbs thus far, (nothing lost in last two months though, kinda sad, not ready to be done, to close to goals); well anyway, for the last few months i have noticed a few changes to my skin; i had acne real bad as a kid growing up, one of the first to take accutane way back when , got all better, cleared all up until like i said a few months ago; well its not really acne though, i dont think, nothing pops, it looks like a rash, kinda of, hard to describe, dont wanna have to go to a dr but kinda thinking i may have to; did anyone here experience changes to their skin after surgery; looking for anything!!!

I'd go to the doctor. If you're almost a year out, it's about time to go get labs done and stuff anyway. Might as well do it now.

Ask your doctor or a dermatologist. Is it worse at specific points in the month, like it could be hormonal? Or stress? Or do you think it's bacteria or oily skin causing it?

I've been an acne sufferer since I was 10, when I started my "cycle." The only times I've ever been really clear, was when I was pregnant, or on a regimen of antibiotics, so I really "get" the worry about it. Mine improves greatly with things like Neutrogena acne wash or that stuff that starts with a P. But mine hasn't changed over the years, and if I get really bad breakouts, I do check with a doc to make sure I can still use that sort of stuff.

Sounds like it could be rosacea, which runs in my family. Usually a dermatologist can help with that.

Good thinking Laureate. My skin has actually gotten much clearer than pre-surgery. I think all the junk I ate before really affected my complexion. My daughter gets acne during that time of the month, and is very jealous that my skin looks so good. Yeh, after years of dealing with pimples and bumps - never had it as a teenager, but as a 30 year old adult my skin began to react all the time and I couldn't just leave things alone either. So Buddy, I would do as the others say and see the doc. Could be something going on with your blood or rosacea - the doc can judge better!

What kind of rash and where at specifically? I have had skin issues the last 14 months. Never in my life until then.

Could still be hormonal even this far out...

Actually my skin REALLY cleared up about three months after my surgery and has never looked better.

It could possibly something else like roseacea...
