I'd stay away from them, tbh. they're just empty calories and pure carbs.

I sure wouldn't eat many of them, especially this early out. If you're gonna eat some, I would go for something whole grain. Skip the saltines.

Ok, you just had 2 people tell you that it's really not a good idea. 2 who have had the surgery already... really? Come on people.
I recommend NUNYA brand crackers. No fat, no calories, no carbs.

There was just a longer thread about crackers posted a day or two ago.. you might find more opinions there.
Personally.. my pouch space is too valuable to waste on crackers but that I guess is a personal choice, as is everything else.

I know they're on your doctor's list. But honestly, some doctors have things on their list that are not really a good idea. Seriously. I saw some doctor's list once that had no sugar added ice cream on the pureed foods list. Seriously.
I didn't eat them when I was on soft foods. They were not on my soft foods list. I don't have a brand to recommend for you. Just something whole grain, if you're gonna eat them.

Bread is soft, should I be having that so early out too? What about soft-baked cookies?
I had crackers last night when I was feeling flu-ish... that was about it. So unless you are projectile vomiting, you do not get a free pass to eat empty calories.

I love how everyone says you should follow your doctors orders, and then bash the hell outta you when you do and look for a little additional guidance. I'm not saying doctors are all right all the time...just saying...she's trying to do what her doc has listed!
I'm not saying to go eat a box of crackers either, but if you're having a hard time with some other foods and feel the need to nibble slowly on one, I'd stick with a Lowfat Triscuit. Triscuits are my favorites, but usually only have 1 or 2 with a lunch of cheese and soy pepperoni. I can honestly say that I would think this early out, something like that would be quite hard to get down, especially without drinking with it. I would still try to stick to your softer and more moist proteins because they are what should be filling your pouch first, but if you must, I'd go with the Triscuits, whole grain, fiber, etc.
And please remember to take everything on here with a grain of salt. Sometimes you need to listen to your doc, and sometimes your fellow WLSers know better. In the end, you need to and will eventually figure out what's right for you. It's nice that we have each other on here to turn to because sometimes those docs are completely out of the loop, and hopefully most of the time you will get tactful and supportive advice!
Good Luck!

Here's your tact... crackers were previously asked about this week. I wouldn't recommend them this early out and I don't know why a nutritionist would either. Empty carbs+ new pouch= no sense
Ok, gotta ask about crackers
