Default Does going the extra mile really help?

So... I have my appointment with my PCP tomorrow and she fully supports the surgery. I'm just wondering if I should write a letter to give to her and the insurance company... as well as the surgeon as to why I feel like I need the surgery. Would this make any difference? Anyone done this?

Do you mean would it help you get approved? I doubt it. If you meet your insurance company's criteria, a letter like that should not be necessary, or even really factor into their decision.

Well I met my insurance's criteria that happened to include a letter as to why I would be a good candidate for wls.

So yeah I did one. If I were you I would check and see if it is required by your insurance.

Good luck.

as long as you do the necessary for your insurance company (pcp approval, 3-month diet, etc), I imagine the only determining factors will be your bmi, weight history, and whether or not your plan has an exclusion.
