Music and Surgery
So, I am sitting here going through my iPod, and thinking how cool it would be if I could have music piped in during the surgery... lol... I am having surgery on Monday. Has anyone actually done this? (I'm actually laughing at this idea because it's not like I'll be jamming to the music or even remember what I was listening to).
Sounds kinda fun.. right? I mean, to have Dolly Parton singing "Workin 9 to 5" in my ears and other various and random 80s songs. lol...

It can't hurt I'm sure! Though from what I understand, many doctors already pipe music into the OR. I dunno, though. Maybe i just watch too much TV lol.

I'm with Misty - can't hurt - you can ask anyways - you never know you might be doing the monkey or boogaloo during surgery. hahaha

Now that would be a HILARIOUS site!!!!! I do have some crazy songs on my iPod... like do the ChaCha or something... I just got a mental image of me knocked out and then my body just grooving to whatever it is that I am listening to.. lol..
I may put together a playlist just for the surgery then, and hey... like you said, it doesn't hurt to ask!! :-)

Actually, I think they often play music in the OR. Usually the docs get to pick what they want to listen to. But if you make a request, they might play it for you.

I say ROCK on. I learned you go in upbeat, you come out upbeat. I didn't have on my Ipod, because I just didn't think of it, however I did go in laughing, and in a great mood, and when I woke up, I was the same.
Me and my family were all telling jokes and laughing before I went in, and the nurses told my family that right before I went to sleep on the table I was joking about it being the weight loss time machine, and they said when I was waking up I was laughing and craking jokes. So I say go for it.
