Question worried: about SDgrrl

I have asked twice for info on SDgrrl and have heard nothing!

Does anybody have any news on her?? She wrote extensively on how badly off she was and now nothing. The last I heard her trio or quartet of doctors was going to powwow about her dangerous state to see if anything could be done.

I am seriously worried about her.

Any news or thoughts from anyone??

Hi there. I've heard from SDgrrl (Donna). She has seen a doc. and it looks like she's looking at surgery. They suspect a kink in her workings - so that's the direction she's taking. She said she misses you guys and will post as soon as she can. Although not well yet - it sounds hopeful.

I hope that it's VERY hopeful. The forums just wouldn't be the same without Donna.

*sending out huge hugs and lots of positive vibes*

Default DSdgrrl

To give you peace of mind: Ok guys, here is a copy of the message I got from Donna yesterday.
************************************************** *************

Okay, so I woke up with my pain (I do that more often than waking with my lover by my side these days. I got caught up on reading my mail, and last night's dinner made a grand re-entrance. So now both Michelle and I are up...I'm sure she's thrilled, although she would never chastise me about it.

Thursday we went to see my pain doc, one I have to 'convince' to achieve the meager level of comfort I presently enjoy...(no that's not jelly on your keyboard, that's me dripping my sarcasm all over this 'puter...

Doc Young was pretty cool. She had all the reports (and had read them!) and her advice was to do all I could to find a good PCP doc who would either do surgery, because NOW they are thinking there's a
kink in the small bowel right at the roux/y-limb junction, and a couple of other docs are happy to agree...see, I thought I had seen my worst....yeah, no. AND that even though the GI docs and surgeons have in all actually recommended surgery as the only real option. So I wonder now, why would they say, "you. have to eat more" talk about a shame/blame game! I'm NOT takin' that.

So now i'm looking for a new PCP, and some research on cleaning out some of the adhesions out of my belly, with as little disruption to my anorexic little body as possible. (As a comparison, I have lost 10lbs since the holiday party!) I'm looking like Kate Moss these days instead of Valerie Bertinelli--sigh.

So, that's me and my little life. I'll pick up my quest again on Monday. Till then, I am ordered by all the docs (and concurred with by Michelle and Joey ) I'll make an effort to post again once we know what's going on, but we all know what THAT can entail.

Now that some of the life-n-death stuff feels a little less dire, maybe folks would like to get together for a bon fire--being by the bay or even if someone has a backyard fire ring...I miss y'all, and I'd like to give out some serious huggage!
Donna
