What changed?
Ok, I'm still pre-op, but I was curious on what was the best thing that has changed since you got your procedure? What was it that you couldn't wait to do that you weren't able before?

Hi
Wow! Where do I start? I am only 5 months post op, and down 108lbs, and already the changes are imagineable!!! I can cross my legs, fit in a booth at a resteraunt, run around with my children(without feeling like a heartattack coming on) buy clothes at Wal-mart, instead of just Avenue or Lane Bryant, I can drive my car without my belly hitting the steering wheel, wear sexy shoes, have AWESOME sex(sorry,TMI!).......and I'm sure the best is yet to come!!! Best of luck in your adventure!!

What's changed? Oh my gosh. Let's see.
I have WAY more energy than I used to. I can walk a long way without getting tired and I can climb stairs without getting out of breath. Recently I went to an indoor water park. To get to the water slides, you have to climb about a zillion stairs. Last time, I had to stop to rest half way up. Not this time. Plus, I was not embarrassed to be seen in public in a bathing suit!
I can shop for clothes in a regular store, like Walmart. I can even buy bras at Walmart now! And I can find tons of great stuff in my size at thrift stores, which I love. I could never find my size before I lost weight.

I wanted to buy a Barbour waxed cotton jacket. I have several "waxed cotton" jackets that I wore at my heaviest, but I was 62 inch chest bordering on size 64 and Barbour only go up to 52 inches.
I so was looking forward to rushing out and buying one as soon as I dropped below 52 inch chest, I could taste it. The anticipation had me trawling the net for the best deals long before I was anywhere near small enough. Then the time came and I was at 52 inch chest.................Then within a couple of weeks I was 50.
Then in another month 48 inches, and now I'm 47 and so glad I didn't blow $450 on a coat just to shoot in that would have fitted me for four weeks
But as soon as this reduction in size stabilises, I'm off to Holland and Holland for a new coat. Until then mu Drizabone cape will do just fine

honestly, it's all the little things for me... my bed doesn't creek anymore when I sit down onto it, I can put shoes on standing up, I'm not embarrassed to see old friends again, etc

Besides all the "little" changes this surgery has brought in my life...the biggest one is that my self-esteem (and self-confidence) has returned...and I LOVE IT!

Ohh being able to shop in the "juniors" stores for a hot outfit.
I want to do a cartwheel though, without feeling like the force of gravity is going to crush my hands. That i'm gonna wait for till im healed from this last procedure.

Changes- oh there are so, so many! Here's one story.
This past Sunday was my 1st Wedding Anniversary with my sweetie pie hubby. We spent the day in Burlington VT. We parked over near the Church Street Market (for those familiar with the area) and walked down to the harbor to try to catch the pumpkin races (FUNNY Stuff, btw but missed the actual race.)
Now, in my past life I wouldn't have walked down to the harbor because it's downhill from where we parked and walking downhill meant having to walk back up again.
As we turned to walk up, I looked at the hill and thought how amazing it was that I could walk up that hill w/o being out of breath, knees screaming and just wanting to sit down and rest half way through.
Hubby and I walked at a fast clip, passing several overweight people.. all of which were struggling to walk, struggling to breathe and a couple stopped to catch their breath and I thought sadly, how much I wish I could share with them my story.. that there is a way out of that fat suit that literally weighs them down.
One woman was leaning on her two companions to help her up the hill (and honestly- it wasn't THAT steep, but it was still more than she could handle) It was amazing to be able to do that.
Now- you don't know my story - but I was 317lbs and my knee was so bad that I could not walk without using a crutch to assist me. My doctor pretty much told me I was going to have to have knee replacement surgery if I didn't do something and soon.
This past summer, we went to Stowe and walked up steep, steep hills, and climbed among the rocks. Past life, I'd have sat in the car and waiting for hubby and his daughter to come back.
Basically, the best thing for me is that now I participate in LIFE rather than sit on the sidelines watching other people living theirs.

I have tons of energy now. My old self is emerging again. I used to shy away from people because I knew what they were thinking. Now, I'm back to my normal, pre-fat, self. I can now wear cute clothes. And, yes, the sex, while good before, IS amazing!!! (No, I'm not going to be sorry for the TMI.*lol*)
