Unfortunately, because Mexico is a foreign country, it tends to get a bad rap when it comes to surgeries, since the only exposure we get here in the U.S. ARE the horror stories. I'm sure there are people who have had positive results, but since the media tends to focus on the negative, that's all we get. I've had friends and relatives who have gone to Mexico for medical/dental/surgery, etc. and have never had issues. I, myself, use a dentist in TJ. I couldn't give you info on INT because I don't know anything about it.

Michelle, I do understand how difficult it is to lose weight. How tall are you? What's your BMI? I am amazed that they are even going to do surgery at your low weight. Surgery is very risky. It is risky to be overweight, too, of course. But personally, I don't think the risk of weighing 193 is higher than the risk of surgery. It wouldn't be worth it to me. Of course, it's your body and it's your choice.

Kelly

Audrey, Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I totally agree about evrything you said. So you had surgery when you weighed 200lbs? How tall are you?

Hi Kelly. I am 5'6" and my BMI is 31.15. Be Lite Weight will not do surgery if you are lower than 30 BMI.

Wow my bmi was 40.1 at 252 pounds and the same height as you and I barely met the criteria.

Good luck.

Your starting bmi is almost identical to my ending bmi. I am not sure I'm understanding the need to undertake such a drastic step. Is the weight right now a higher risk than the surgery itself?

I'm 4' 10.5". My starting weight was not the highest I'd ever been, but over the course of 10-15 years I had come down to 200 lbs and just stuck there.

I am not understanding why you would want to reroute your guts for 60 pounds? I am sorry I can not fathom this.

I would be stoked to weigh ONLY 190. When I was able to lose weight a few years ago, I got down to 185 or so and I thought I looked HOT (compared to the 245, of course!)

I think you need to rethink this...and I think if the doctor agrees to give you this surgery, he isnt a doctor I would WANT to do it.

I am sorry, I know how desperate you must feel to even consider doing this...but, I think there are other things you need to think about. Wouldnt you be at a much higher risk because of your kidney donation?

Default Any info on INT in Tijauna?

Thank you all for your comments. I understand your concerns. The thing is , I do not want my weight to get out of control again to where I am looking 300 lbs. straight in the eye. I have been working my *** off in the gym, trying to eat better, and it is not working. So should I wait until it gets so bad that I put all my weight back on, then have the surgery. No thanks.
