Hey olddies, and lurkers....
Take some time and post why those of you that used to participate here more in the past, than you do now.
And newbie lurkers, post why you may be intimidated to not post any questions or comments.
Hesitation to post legitimate issues is wrong, wee have the ability to help a lot of people, but assine remarks and comments do scare some away....
Now me for instance, Im the toughest guy around here, and I have one hell of a bite!!

I think i'm sick of seeing "will my hair fall out, when can i have pasta, how much will i lose the first month" questions. Personally, that is why I only answer the mindless banter type threads. I enjoy most.. errr.. some of the people on here and like coming here, but to be honest I ignore the repetitive questions.

I did not start posting on this site until the end of last year. So my posting as a long termer has not necessarily dropped off a lot. I came here initially to find insurance information on plastic surgery. But stuck around as there is a pretty good core group of very helpful people here on TT.
I like to stop in during the day periodically and try to help when I can, and I am also still learning new things. I agree that some of the repetitive question are tiresome, so I often leave those for the other noobs to regurgitate. I am also not a big drama fan, so I tend to stay out of emotionally charged threads. But I get that many of us ex-fatties and soon-to-be-ex-fatties may have been socially/emotionally isolated for many years (not excluding myself here), so I do try to be patient.

personally I'm sick and tired of the word "newbie", sometimes it makes us so called "newbies" feel like you "oldies" don't want bothered with us. I have really slacked off on talking to people on here because I agree with the one thread that said that you seem to lump us all into one "idiot" pile. I have to tell you, I did my homework and I didn't jump into this blindly. And yes, I new going in that yes there was a possibility that I would lose hair...the Dr. doesn't elaborate on that subject so we come in here and ask specific questions and that apparently annoys people. So us "newbies" learn pretty damn fast that someone is gonna think this question is stupid so just don't ask. I'm not saying that there aren't some really stupid questions but you know, answer them with grace and realize you don't really know the other person asking the question and maybe...just maybe, you "oldies" are the only people we have to come to. I appreciate all of the advise I have been given, but mostly I just sit back and read and yes..this "newbie" does know how to search. So, more often than not I just come in and read and never even log in. That's my answer and I'm sure someone (or more) will lash out at me for even having an opinion! So I'm sorry in advance!

I've been here 5 years now probably would be one of the olddies. I try to answer on things I experinced or can remember, but I was lucky didn't have any problems so I can't help people with that. I do get tired of the "us" against "them" crap that goes on. Sometimes I think people forgot where they have been and how far they have come to get where they are. Also think there are people on here that like the drama (something I try to stay out of), but hey what do I know I've just been around for 5 years.

I'd hope that people wouldn't take the 'newbie' label personally.. it's a common term used all over the net mostly for lack of a better term, I suppose.
What I'd like to see come out of the recent discussion is a better search function, personally.
I know how frustrating it is to try to find something and have a lot of unrelated info show up
