I worked at Lowes Home Improvement once and had a guy come in who had a cart full of plants. When I took one out, it had JUST been watered and it was a peat moss planter. A little piece broke off. He called me a 2 dollar whore and said women should be at home cooking dinner and having babies. A guess as to where he was from.

He didn't appreciate it when I told him the $2 whore he called me was more than his father paid for his mother. That comment got me a paid day off, but I'll be damned if I'll let anyone talk down to me.

Txchic- chin up honey, you'll end up finding something better and where they appreciate ya. hugs.

As far as outsourcing goes, it's no different then manufacturing companies sending items out to China or Mexico ~ labor is cheaper. I have never hung up on someone with a foreign accent or blame "them" for taking "our" jobs... come on, it's not their fault and who am I to blame some person I do not know for wanting to make a living and feed their family, etc. I've never had a bad experience whilst on the phone with an obvious foreigner, in fact I've gotten better treatment then lets say.. dealing with a DMV employee?!

Rude people are just rude people ~ no matter what country they may come from, it's just sad when people generalize and dislike an entire country/race/etc. because of one encounter. I personally am no saint and make judgements but I always remember that I am certainly no better than another person because I was lucky enough to be born into the family/race/country that I was.

Some of these comments sadden me especially because this is a board full of weight loss struggles and I'm sure there is not one person who would have appreciated people assuming that because you were/are overweight that you smell bad, are lazy, have no self-control, are disgusting, etc... this list could go on forever. Just have a little tolerance, it really does make the world a nicer place to live.

Lost my job in Jan 2009, so I'm in the same boat.

Hey Tricia how's it hanging? Haven't seen much of you here, but you're probably dealing with the work thing huh? Have you found something, or have any good leads? Are the kiddos back home with ya? I hope you're okay...been a little concerned about you.
