Default I should be happy

but tonight, as I think its down to be being uncomfortable, im in the most grotty of moods. Not even my usual favourite comedians are making me smile.

Any ideas on how to get myself out of it?

I've been off of TT for awhile and was doing a little catching up earlier. Didn't you just have surgery? That's happiness in itself

I know the discomfort overtakes that but can you go out and get some fresh air? My surgery is next Wed so I don't know what you're going through right now but I'm going to try not to sit in the house. At least sit outside on the deck for fresh air :-)

Wish I could help more! Keep your chin up, this too shall pass!!!

your right, I really should be happy. Mabe it will pass in a couple of hours.

its 10PM right now, so going out in this area isnt really an option (although woudl be good if it was daytime).

I think it's just the discomfort for now.

Yes it is more than likely discomfort. It will pass. Just sip, sip, sip. Some days are just like that right after WLS. We all went through it. I promise, this to shall pass.

Go for a light walk, find a Chav that looks seedy. Hit him up for some gnar buds and ....Oh wait, wrong forum.

You will get happier as the days go on. You should be happy as this is your new birthday so to speak. One day out of surgery. One that cannot be reversed, one that provides a tool to gaurd you against obesity for life.

I like to turn to youtube and just look at random funny/cute stuff. It can be a major distraction.

One of my all-time favorites is this one...I got it an email at work once, and I kept it on my computer at work for times when I needed a laugh or distraction: YouTube - Unmatched nunchuck skills

And this one for the cute/funny: YouTube - dog scratching its back down a hill

Anyway, I hope this feeling passes for you soon enough!

you're only a couple days post-op, right? I think when I was that early out, I was just drifting away on my pain killers all day :P

Well lets look at this Clarke mate........

You've just had major surgery and been under the knife for a couple of hours two days ago

You carn't do what has made you happy for the last few years i.e. feed your face

You face days of discomfort as the gas inside you tries to find a way out

You've got more holes in you than a second hand pin cussion

Pizza!! yeh right maybe in a year or two

Chocolate!! forget it forever

You face a huge clothing bill cos three weeks from now nothing will fit

You will have to take those orrible chewy calcium thingies forever

Your mates will pass you in the street because they wont recognise you

Pepsimax has gone for ever

You should be delerious shouldn't you?

Believe me Clarke it will get better. I was down in the dumps when I was let home too, everyone feels crappy first few days. But you walked in there and climed on that table and you made it off that chuffin table and your life will get better every single day.

Kath is a great nurse and she will look after you just fine. Just keep your arse moving about and drink as much water as you can force down and you will be fine.

If you feel like you need to talk mate pm me your number and I'll give you a bell.

Keep your chin up

Karl

Well, I slept like a baby. its 10:22 and been up around 15 minutes.

I slept on the recliner as bed was unconfrtable. Slept for around 9 hours straight through

A little wind this morning, bit unplesant, but in the same way funny too :P

Feeling in much better spirits and ready for a tablespoon of water.
Will keep you all updated.

Thanks for the videos too, saw them this morning, very funny.
