Between my job loss, moving 5 hours away from my kids and friends to a town where I know NO one but my hubby, who is working all day long.. what's a girl to do?

So, I spent a lot of my free time logged in to TT, for me but also so I could hopefully help others, as I was helped.. I felt that since I had the time I *owed* people the time to listen and let them know someone was there, whenever I could.... the whole 'pay it forward' kind of thing.

ANYWAY. I just find the whole idea amusing... especially after finding out how much work it is to post the totals. *snicker*

5001!

I dont get the whole post count conflict. There are a few individuals that complain so much.

Then I hear "the old timers" are leaving the forum? Why? I dont get the shit either!

Some people take life way too serious! To live in a bag and be burdened by such small things is a waste of time.

5000 posts thank you for your time and effort. Making people feel like they've been heard, someone cares, etc.

I personally dont care about that number. It makes no difference to me. I enjoy this site and most of the people here. Stats dont mean shit in my book.

Coming from the PW King and Queen Just kidding, the entire life of the board is supported by having a mix of old (experienced and wise!!) and new.

Plus I have no idea how I'm already well over the 400 mark. New goal: 2000 by the time I have a surgery date?

There's a lot of old timers who left for reasons other than "the forum was going to hell"... but eh, you always come back home.

It's been too quiet around here lately. hm.....

Speaking of old vs new...

I started my 6 mo of classes today, I'll try to keep most of the stuff to the 6 mo thread, but I hope I don't go Jersey on them so to speak (it's really a compliment being used as a verb Kelly, really )

There were 5 people who didn't show, one dude who admitted he's checking out the classes because he doesn't know anything, and 4 or 5 people 50%-60% sure they want surgery, but only Lap Band and only for the uneducated reasons.

Waiting lists of a few months people!

Oh well, there are definitely a few people who are ready for it, though I think I'm the SME (subject matter expert) of the group. Which is a little sad.

I'm super pumped and I was in that boat so I am really excited to see what happens with the little group. It's like The Real World with fat people. Apparently we're not supposed to call other people fat (imagine that), I'll have to be careful cuz I've really embraced the 'O' (bese) word since deciding on surgery and throw it out there.

Aw, that is a compliment. I have a verb named after me Um, ive been to a support group with the group i kinda did classes with. One lost like maybe 75 lbs, the others were slow losers, or just totally weren't getting the whole concept. It's sad. There's another one this thurs. If i'm able to make it, i'm going to go. I think I need a refresher of how awesome I am doing, minus the few bumps in the road with complications i have had. I'm 125 lbs... 1 more pound to go until i am officially HALF THE GIRL I WAS WHEN I STARTED.

EEK.
