it wasn't so much the production people. she's a horrid horrid woman behind the scenes. i venture to guess that the snarkyness you see ON tv is nothing compared to what you DON'T get to see.
of course, this is the internet so I mostly take celeb talk with a grain of salt, but i had read some in depth article somewhere that the reason you don't see her in laws or her family on the show anymore (remember the beloved aunts that always helped take care of the kiddies in the first couple seasons?) is because SHE raised a tizzy because TLC FINALLY decided that the family who were helping take care of the brood should be compensated for their efforts in helping raise the children. I imagine with 8 children, the job was pretty big.
She decided that SHE was the only one to be compensated by the network company and that was the law. Suddenly her family disappeared from the scenes because they said and I'm sure I'm paraphrasing "screw this crap, someone wants to recognize my efforts in helping you by paying me and you're opposed? I'm out. peace!"
I'm fairly certain that even without the show, their marriage in general might not have been happily ever after.

Hate if for the kids. They deserve a normal life.
Hate the parents. I think Kate is a obsessive control freak and Jon needs to grow a set..
Other then that I am joining Kimber and Baja's dish party

huh - I think I saw something about the compensation thing as well. I believe it. She's such a fame wh*re. Those older two already have issues. It's just going to get worse.
We watched last night and she was saying "The Show Must Go On" and I'm like - uh, no, it doesn't have to...this is a reality show, you're not a professional actor or performer.
PLUS the fact that there's no laws protecting the kids from ANYTHING. It's not like they're child actors because it is supposedly a "documentary."
Look at all those kids from The Partridge Family and Diff'rent Strokes! They had laws protecting them...and they're still completely screwed up.
I stopped watching the show a long time ago because I hated the way she talked to Jon. And the way he took it. No more, I guess, huh?

It's obvious that those two seem more concerned about continuing on with the show rather than their children. What they should've done, IMO, is given up the show and worked on their marriage instead. I rarely watch the show, but she seems to be the bitch from hell.

The state of PA is actually opening an investigation to see if TLC is violating any child labor laws.
I also read about the "the show must go on!" comment. She's psychotic.

I've never liked the way Kate talked down to Jon as if he were one of the kids. I can't believe she's surprised he wants out the marriage. I think she's surprised he finally grew some and stood up to her on national TV. He was so unhappy all these seasons. Just flat--no expressions, no smiles, nothing. He rarely muttered a word. I wish them both the best for the sake of the children. I hope the show gets cancelled, just so the kids can lead fairly normal lives. Kate got her $1.3 million dollar home. It's time to let the cash cow (reality TV) go.

I read tonight they will take a hiatis until august then back to tv. they make over $75k per episode. it is a shame to not even seek counseling. I feel bad for the kids. they sure didnt ask for all this.
