Oh man, i almost fell off my chair laughing. Yes, it's a pet. It's a hedgehog. He's pretty spikey and yes, they hurt, but he's a lot of fun.

Melissah,
Your horse is a good-looking boy! He's gaited, right?
Here are two of my horses, the one on the left is my Quarter horse the one on the right is our paint (he's the best-minded horse I've ever owned)'. He's ridden by my 6-year-old and 13-year-old . My 15-year-old has another great gelding and he's a roper. We also have a mini that my daughter shows. All kids do 4H and show their horses.
I like to do barrels, drill team and trail riding but my riding has slowed down alot as I've gotten heavier. Can't wait to get in that saddle as a normal-sized person!
I also have 6 dogs, and a bunch of barn cats.

Beautiful horses you have. Isn't it great to have a horse you can trust with your kids? My daughters mare is a spazz...(major seperation anxiety and a weaver) but she takes care of my daughter. We got her as a rescue almost 3 years ago. My daughter does drill team but not with her horse, (she's crazy, the horse)too close for her, ya know stirrup to stirrup. Now I know why they use mostly geldings. oh and yes, he's gaited.

It's nice to have someone who knows the weight issues that go with riding. I can't wait to ride smaller too.
