25 things
So, there is this post going around on facebook that apparently most of my friends have already completed it. It has taken me 2 full days to come up with 25 things to say about myself.
I thought it was pretty cool, and wanted to share it. What are your 25 things?
1. I have ADD that was diagnosed when I was a senior in High School. Although it was such a relief to finally have an answer to questions that plagued me throughout the grade school years, I REFUSE to use this as an excuse for any part of my life.
2. I spend more time on the internet at work than I probably should, but I like to catch up on the funny stuff that craigslist posters have to share with the world.
3. I love volunteering at the Animal Shelter because as corny as it sounds, I do feel like I’m giving something back to the community. Not to mention, the AWESOME feeling when a dog or cat goes home with their new family. :-)
4. I purchased my first home when I was 25 years old. It was a brand new 3 Bdrm/ 2 ba townhouse. The one main feature and why I decided on this house as opposed to some of the others I looked at….. The Corian countertops!! Loved them!
5. I love to play pool and go bowling.. but anyone who has done either of these activities with me knows that I suck at them! At least I have fun playing though!!
6. I used to be HORRIBLE with math!! I never once thought that I would be in the FINANCE department of a major retail establishment and constantly dealing with numbers!!!
7. I think of my friend Tina almost daily and it’s been over a year since she was murdered.
8. I will never be the “crazy animal lady” even though my animal is crazy… :-)
9. The above mentioned animal, my border collie mix “Bella”, is the best thing about my day. I LOVE that she is the first thing I think of when I walk in the door. I put my stuff down and then it’s Bella Time! I love that she gets excited to see me. I even love her little quirks that she has. :-)
10. My dream job would working for National Geographic as a photographer. I would go around the world to different villiages to explore each culture, and take candid shots of life in general. (Not too sure I would go to Antarctica or any of the dangerous places, but the other stuff, I’m all for!)
11. I got accepted into my DREAM school of Appalachian State University as a transfer student in 1999. I went up there for one thing and learned so much more. I went pot luck with my roommate in the dorms, and got a friend for life. How awesome is that?
12. I didn’t graduate from the above mentioned school. I learned so much that I couldn’t choose a major. I changed majors 4 times officially, and decided that I needed to figure it out first and THEN go back and get the degree.
13. I am almost 30 and still haven’t figured it out, although I am MUCH MUCH closer to it.
14. I am going to have Gastric Bypass surgery within the next few months. I do not have a date as of yet, but I am 90% of the way through the process, and cannot WAIT to approach my 30s as a healthy girl!
15. My sister and brother are my best friends
16. I love my niece more than words could ever express. In her 4 months on this earth, it feels like she’s been a part of the whole picture since the beginning of time.
17. I hope to have a marriage like my parents and grandparents have. My parents have been married for 35 awesome years, and my grandparents were married over 50 years.
18. I sleep with a green blanket that I got when I graduated from High School. Don’t ask me why, but this thing goes everywhere with me. It’s not a security blanket, but more so a cozy thing. I loved it so much that I went and bought my sister a yellow one just like it…. She has the same issue of having it go everywhere with her. Haha
19. I have a GREAT long term memory… as for short term memory…… what number am I on again?
20. I am a self proclaimed fragrance expert. Ask me what types of fragrance you want for any season, for the colors you are wearing..etc… I’ll put the perfect scent to it.
21. To distress, I draw geometric designs and color them in with the sparkly gel ink pens of different colors.
22. Worst class I ever had in college, philosophy! Hands Down! Horrible! I know I failed that class with flying colors, but I got the added bonus of getting smiley faces on my tests from the professor. If I didn’t answer the question, I decided to philosophize about something random. He loved it, but I still failed.
23. Best Class I ever had in college was my very first curriculum and instruction class. My professor was so inspired by what she taught that I gained an entirely different aspect for working with special needs children.
24. I get in artsy moods where I can paint children’s furniture for HOURS and even days at a time. This happens once in a blue moon, but it happens!
25. Coming up with 25 things about myself is extremely hard. So I am thankful that this is the last one. :-)
