for what it's worth, I was almost the exact same weight as you and a little bit shorter the last time I flew to Paris on Air France... didn't have any issues regarding seat size beyond the normal cramped airplane and I don't recall having needed a seatbelt extender.

Nisey, that is exactly the reason that I REFUSE to fly Southwest. Well, mostly that, also partly that horrible reality show they had about SWA. I swear, why they let themselves be represented in that manner, I will never ever understand. Lots of pettiness.
Anyway, even when I get thin I won't fly them because I will still be mad over the seat thing. They never made me buy an extra one, but I still hate that stupid rule.

Last time I flew I was 300 pounds and was completely miserable. The arm rests were painful against my sides and the seat belt was squishing my guts (I was too embarassed to ask for the seatbelt extender). But I think it has a lot to do with how and where you carry your weight. I'm an "apple" so I had a HUGE gut to deal with. Plus, I flew alone ... I have no doubt that being with a man who loves you will help your spirits!!!
But don't sweat it ... the flight is only a tiny part of a WONDERFUL trip!!!
It's wonderful to read your excitement!!!!
HAVE FUN!

Chris,
I hope all goes well with your flight and fabulous cruise!!! love them!!!
I flew at 245 and was very uncomfortable with the arm rests. So whenever I can and its available I try and fly first class- MUCH more space there
look for an exit row as they have more space too

Girl, I know your concern is legitimate for you but I have to tell you, your posts made me laugh. I can HEAR you saying that - I can hear myself asking the same questions LOL
But honey, the good thing if, if its a 2 seat row, and on a prop plane - you'll be squished but only next to your husband
You will be fine - you might need an extender if its a prop plane...
sometimes the ticket agent or the person at the last gate can bump you up, if they are nice and have the room - I've had that happen when I asked if they could put me next to an empty seat as not to crowd someone. I fit perfectly in first class, at my heaviest LOL

Just avoid bulkhead seating. The tray is in the arm of your seat, not in a seatback. You can't adjust the tray.

You'll probably have more trouble with leg room than anything else (I'm also 6'1").

Back in July when I went to Vegas my flying experience was not a pleasant one. I think we flew American airlines, which has smaller seats and they do seating as first come. I was hoping to sit next to my gf (she weighs about 86 pounds) and I could of used some of her room, but when we boarded the plane I had to sit next to another couple. Also had to have a seatbelt extender which was humiliating. On another note, I flew in 2007 to Montana and had no seat issues but can't remember what airlines we flew.
Don't let the stress bother you. Think about all the fun of the trip, and the rest will be what it is.

Honestly I find it depends on the airline an dtype of plane. When I was 240 and a size 22 I took American Airlines from NY to Orlando, FL and the seat was TERRRIBLE. It hurt so bad. I coudn't fit in the bathrooms on the plane and ended up RUNNING off th eplane at arrival since I had to pee soooo bad! Not to discourage, but your airline makes a difference...and their armrests don't move. I will try again in a year or so when hopefully I will be a size 12/14 ciao
