Default Wtf!!!

Ok, dr called me on my tsh right now. It seems that i have gone from hypothyroid to hyperthyroid in a matter of 3 1/2 weeks. Now he is dropping my dosage down. Wtf is going on with me? So do i go with the lower dosage or just keep on going? He said we will test again in 6 weeks. I really think i am going crazy now.

If you want to talk about thyroide, TSH and Syntroid, you found the right girl in me!!! I think I have seen it all in my 9 years since meeting my "friend" the thyroid gland and its disorders...

I would go for the lower dosage probably... Depends how hyper you are... What is your TSH level? The ideal should be between 1-3... Some people are more stable than others. My mom went 10 years without an abnormal TSH and meds ajustment. Me, I think the longest I was stable for was 1 1/2 year. I had 2 pregnancies that didn't help in the mean time as well...

Last January, I went from a TSH level of 2.9 to 9 in less then a month, with no change in meds. That put me in Hypo and I was just stabilized at a TSH of 3 before surgery, beginning of september...

Yesterday I saw the doc that has been treating me since the beginning and he wants to draw blood every 4 weeks for at least the next year.

At .294, I would take the lower dose Syntroid for sure. Especially since you are still losing. Otherwise, I bet you it wouldn't be long you would feel the hypo. symptoms like the jitters, acc. hearbeat, etc... Maybe you are even experiencing them now??? Me, it doesn't take long. Usually the first sign: sleep. I get some but it becomes restless and I wake up many times during the night...

Let me know how it goes!

i don't have any symptoms at all. I have always had trouble sleeping and take ambien. Thats is why i was sort of doubting the results. I guess i will see in 6 weeks, but i am still not sure of the lower dose. I haven't lost anything in about a month and half. Complete total stall. You would think with it being hyper, i would lose like crazy. Yea fat chance for me. I never have it so lucky. Thanks for your support and yes i will keep you informed.

My tsh jumps all over the place. I don't take meds because my thyroid still works although sporatically, so it has not been ablated. My TSH is more likely to be ultra low but my T3 and T4 will still be within normal range. Did he check T3 and T4? Interestingly when my TSH is low I will have trouble loosing weight also, the endochrinologist said that does happen sometimes. Who is changing your meds and regular doc or an endo?

Sorry to hear this izanmanyzanz, hopefully the doctor will tell you why and how this changed?

I take thyroid medication and I don't even know why? LOL...My doctor prescribed it and it's a very low dosage (I think I have hypothyroidism). I wasn't even aware I had problems until I did my pre-op lab work. All I know is that Kelly (Dr. C's nurse) said it would not go away with the surgery.
