I can relate to not taking your meds but I try to faithfully do it daily -- since my surgery I can't stand sweet things and the bariatric fusion vitamins are sweet but my Doc has us take 4 a day. I chew, add water, swallow and try not to toss them!

But my whole point is I need to take them especially since I suffer from severe arthritis (which by the way has been GREAT since my surgery!)--you don't want your bones or joints to break down--once gone it is gone and it is not fun to have joint pain on a daily basis so please take your meds--too many things can happen if you don't. A friend of mine also did not take her meds after surgery and her whole system got screwed up--all her bloodwork was bad and had to be out of work 8 weeks to get it all straightened out--you think she would have learned but she did not.

Hip pain--do you sleep on your hips? It could be bursitis--does it hurt between the thigh and hip? Any burning? It is painful--I had to go to PT for 6 weeks and the only thing that really worked was a treatment they gave me with cortisone and a sono machine massaging it in. If you have to lay on your hips you should roll more on your stomach and not directly on the hip.

Hope it gets better.

Well Dr visit didn't go my way at all. I wanted to discuss my blood work and he just said take your vitamins. Let me tell you, he did not listen to a dang thing I had to say. My thyroid level is messed up, he said we will check it again and if it still off we will see about starting you on thyroid replacement. Hey you dumb ass, I have been on synthroid for 12 years, what do you mean start. Oh I am sorry, you are already on a high dose 200 mcg, lets check it and if it is still off lets go from there. This is coming from a dang clinic that takes 3 weeks to get there blood work back, and another 3 weeks to get a dang appt. In 6 weeks I can gain 10 lbs back due to my freaking thyroid. Not to mention the damage to my organs from lack of thyroid. I did some research today at Parathyroid.com Discusses Parathyroid Disease and Parathyroid Treatment. Parathyroid Surgery, Parathyroid Operations and Parathyroid Tumors. and found out that people with high pth and low vitamin d can have hyperparathyroidism. Has nothing to do with thyroid but looking at this makes alot of sense. He said that the number of within a normal range and that I am reading too much into it. My pth was a 62 with the upper limit a 65. My nut says that my body is pulling calcium from the bones. He said I am going the wrong way about things getting info from my surgeons office. I ask him about my high bilirubin? highest is 1.2 mine is at 1.3. he said it is not that high, not to worry about it. My father has liver cancer and you dont want me to worry about numbers dealing with my liver.
Anyways I got so pissed off, I didn't even have him check me about this dang cold for 3 weeks now, didn't ask about bone density test, and knew from his attitude that a referral to an endocrinologist was out of the question.
So, I did the blood work for the thyroid and did a medical records release to change doctors. I am going back to the doctor that let me know about a pill for low folic acid, and the one who took excellent care of me after 2 miscarriages in 3 months and then pregnant again. I wish I never would have left him, but because of insurance, I had to go to this clinic for low income. Well I have medicaid again along with the insurance through dh work. I am going back to a dr who gives a damn about his patients, and would rather refer you somewhere than take a chance on your health, if he cant help you himself.

I don't know, maybe I am reading things into this. Maybe I am crazy. Maybe I should call the psychiatrist.

I hope you find your answers. I know how it is to go from Dr to Dr trying to find answers. Its your health, don't let anyone make you think you shouldn't pursue it until you are happy with the care and results you are getting.
