Claire emailed me. They may have to evacuate later tonight because of hurricane Ike.

She wrote "This is the worst hurricane in my lifetime, and it is very frightening."

To anyone affected by this hurricane - please stay safe. You'll be in my prayers and thoughts.

As soon as I know that Claire and her husband are safe, I'll let you know.

I will say a silent prayer for all families endangered by this huge storm ike. We can only pray that it will down grade before it hits land.

Thank you, Corrine, for this thread, and the wonderful good wishes. I am glad you quoted my email, Corrine, but I made one error in the email, and that is that I am 1.5 HOURS from the coast, not miles. The hurricane is huge, and it is truly a monster.

It will more than likely wipe out Galveston completely. 200,000 homes are totally flooded out. Hundreds of thousands of people are without power. The hurricane has not hit yet, just this devastation from the early "bands" as it approaches.

And to compare it with Katrina, i just can't do that. Katrina was a monster, Ike is a monster.

Thank you for all of your good thoughts and prayers. Sincerely appreciated. And a big hug and smooch to my dear friend, Corrine - always there for me no matter what!
