Post Hi, I am so nervous my gastric bypass is no++

until October 2nd at 8am. I was wondering. after you left the hospital how much weight this you lose. After 3 months how much did you lose? Then after six months how much lbs did you get rid off?

When did you start exercizing? What type of activities did you do?

Let's see ...

I went in the hospital at 300. I left the hospital 5 days later at 314. (I.V.'s have that water balloon effect on you)
At 2 weeks was 281
At 4 weeks 263
And I honestly don't remember the rest.
Oh, at 4 months and 3 weeks I was 195
I'm 6 months now and I don't know what I weigh

I was walking a lot after surgery. At 6 weeks I treated myself to a new bicycle, and I haven't walked too much since.

Everyone is so very different. The rate of loss is different, the pain level is different, just like how active you'll be is comepletely in your hands.

If you check out some older posts using your 'search' function, you'll get tons of info about this. Also, looking through Member Photo's can help give you an idea, plus reading signatures ... most people chart their progress in their signatures.

Good luck and CONGRATS!!

Thanks! My surgeon likes to say "You're losing weight like a GUY!" ... which is why I don't post my weight in my signature ... enough people around here think I'm a lesbian, I don't want people thinking I've got a "package" on top of it!!!

It feels great to be free from so much extra weight so quickly. I don't know how much I've lost as of today ... but I do know that I couldn't even lift that much, let alone carry that weight around all day on my back, you know? My whole attitude and outlook on life has changed, and I think it's Groovy Baby!

I bet you'll be good to go at 3 months out. That's when I really started getting my energy back and then some. And seriously dude ... you'll have a MUCH better time 3 months post-op than you would if you went today.

Ps. does my "goal" in my signature really put you off?

More than 50 ... quite a bit more. I would honestly guess more like 80 for you.
Trust me ... doing things like that are 100x better post op ... it's like a whole new world!

i know the word is men lose quicker than women but 80lbs in 3months is a bit drastic.. unless you are including the 2 weeks liquid diet prior and 2 week liquid after also..then maybe. but 80 lbs would put me at 210..lol i would be doin back flips all the way from Pa to FL.. lmao

Weight loss...well, went to the hospital at 409 at 3 P.M., took too much milk of magnesia, drank 64 oz's of water in 5 hours, and the next morning I weighed 401, so I dont need to go into too much detail about loosing 8 lbs in 12 hours, and what a night I had!!! Holy crap, and I mean crap!! Left the hospital at about 415 I think, and 4 months later down about 115 lbs, but also dont weigh myself that often.

As of: 11/23/08- Happy now!! You know who!!262

MONEY IN THE BANK TO DATE......$3920
This is the running amount of money saved by not having to spend so much eating out. Number based on spending $20 a day on food. And that very conservative!!!

Dude ... listen to Baja ... it's true that the weight falls off men much quicker.
What would you care to wager on what you'll lose at 3 months out? In other words, what are you willing to give up, becuase you WILL lose!!!
