my surgeon says he doesnt give goals because if you dont reach them, you could become saddened but he said healthy and also that a success is someone who looses 60-80% of thier excess weight.

I'm so glad you asked that question! I've been wondering the same thing and these answers are very comforting!! My personal goal is to qualify for IVF, but i think I did expect to be set a goal weight! I guess it's wise to see where my body goes and to support it to be as healthy as it can be!
Thanks all
Debbie

You crack me up Tom!
I'm with you on that one ... Auschwitz for you, Cabanatuan for me.

I think for me to weigh 140 wouldn't be 'ideal' ... I'm looking for lean and muscular, I just don't find bones attractive. And if that means I weigh 170 and feel sexy, then I'll be one very VERY happy girl!

Besides, I think weighing 140 is a lame goal ... but to be a porn star ... now THAT'S a goal worth aiming for!!!

My surgeon didn't give me a goal weight either, even after I asked him about it.

I set my own at 148 lbs. I'm 5' 5", and that is what I need to weigh to be considered a "normal" weight.

If I go lower than that, it's all good. I weighed 125-130 lbs during high school, and I had a killer body!

Mine didn't give me one either but i asked and he said anywhere in the 150 range would put me at a healthy BMI well I have 20 more to go. But for me I am shooting for another 50lbs but whatever really I just want to stay in the healthy range and live life. I figure my body will tell me when its ready to quit. If at 150 I feel good then so be it.
