I love the Color Purple. While not my favorite I think it is one of the best movies ever made. I cried through it the first time and now each time I watch I bawl cause I know what happens next.
Another of my favorites is The Polar Express

Deb,

I forgot about the Color Purple too...

My friend Timisha was in it...she's the little girl running after the train when Celie throws the gold coins. I remember them filming when we were in 8th grade and Timisha was out for like 2 months! When the movie FINALLY came out, we were all in 9th grade I think...and I had gotten the chicken pox! I went to the movie anyway and didn't tell my Mom about the spots on my belly until after--she was so mad at me! It's still a touchy subject 22 years later!

Sometimes when I'm being goofy with Liz I do the "Oprah Cornfield Walk" and then I sing the "Sister's" song...

Did you see Madea's Family Reunion (another favorite)? When Madea gets on the bus to find the kid that's messing with the girl she took in and she redoes the Sophia speech about Harpo not beating her up? I was peeing my pants...that was some funny sh*t!

-Mike

PS. Do you read Alice Walker's books? I can't believe they didn't go ahead and make a movie of "Possessing the Secret of Joy." It would have been graphic, but story-wise, I thought it was a much more powerful tale.

It's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise.

Oh, and the whole "Mawwidge" scene...

Love it!
