Default Thinner Times Google Gadget in 10 Easy Steps!

If you are using iGoogle as your homepage, or personal portal, John has graciously given us the code to create our own Google Gadgets for placement on your page. What it does is give you a feed of the newest posts on Thinner Times and you can choose how many you want to see at one time (from 3 to 9 postings.) If you’re interested, follow the directions below to create your Thinner Times Google Gadget!

1. Login to your Google Account or go to your iGoogle Home Page.
2. Near the top right had corner, click on the “Add Stuff” link.
3. In the left column at the bottom of the list is a link that reads “Add Feed or Gadget.” Click on that.
4. A box will pop up where you will cut and paste this Thinner Times Feed link: http://www.thinnertimesforum.com/external.php?type=RSS2 (Just cut and paste from here.)
5. Click Add.
6. Near the top left, there is a link that takes you “Back to iGoogle Home.” Click it to go back to your iGoogle page.
7. Refresh your iGoogle page and your gadget should appear!
8. When your gadget appears, there are three clickable tabs in the upper right corner. The down arrow will give you some options, the horizontal line will minimize the gadget, and the X will close the gadget.
9. To change the number of posts you see, click the down arrow and click on “Edit Settings.” Choose the number of posts you wish to view in the gadget and press “SAVE.”
10. That’s it, you’re done…and now you have even easier access to Thinner Times!

Remember too, that some of our members are keeping in touch through Skype and Twitter, both of which have groups in the GROUPS section if you are interested!
