Default Back and on the move again!

Hi All,

Finally finished up negotiations at work after 20++ hour marathon one night. Left and was gone to do my volunteering at a camp up north for deaf and hard of hearing children. My daughters come with me and they enjoyed it immensely. I'm back now from my stint volunteering and in the hell of organizing a contract ratification vote.

Next Sunday I'm on the move again - going to see my surgeon for the one year anniversary appointment and decided to turn it into a family vacation. So, August 10-13 we are going to Point Pleasant NJ along the shore and then August 13-16 we'll be in NY City. Does anyone have any tips about tickets for Broadway shows? I've been looking at discount tickets on line but have heard it's sometimes better to wait to the day of the show and buy 'rush tickets'. Anyone have any experience with this.

Also, if anyone is in the NYCity area or NJ shore area and wants to meet up, let me know.

Good to see all your smiling faces! I've missed you all... whew that was a long post!

Hugs, Kimberly

Hi
I live in NJ and grew up in Brooklyn NY. Broadway shows are the best and i go as often as i can.
Right in the center of Times Square(across from TGI Fridays), there is a big
'TKTS' booth. They sell show tickets on the day of the performance. You have to get there at like 1pm and wait on line, but it is worth the wait. Especially if they have seats to the specific show you want to see. They have a billboard type thing outside, so that u can see exactly what shows they have seats for ahead of time. A few yrs ago i saw 'Nine' and paid like half price for first row seats because they were considered 'obstructed view', which only means that sometimes being in the front row, you dont get to see what is going on to the extreme rear of the stage (which is usually nothing...lol)

This is a link to a picture of what the TKTS booth looks like.

hope this helps, and have fun !!!!!

Hi Kim... enjoy your vacation. I'm wondering how that ankle of yours is doing? Are you out of the cast? (if you updated that, I guess I missed it, sorry!)

Hi Kim, I've been wondering where you have been keeping yourself! It sounds as if you've been keeping yourself very busy. I hope you have a safe and wonderful family vacation. I'll be looking forward to when you come back. I'm heading on out of here too....Aug 9-17. We are heading into upper Michigan to do some camping.

Hope to catch up with you when you return. ENJOY!
