Default laid off.. house is sold.. time to get moving...

*sigh*... saw it coming, but it still feels really, really bad..

Sunday, landlord informed me the house is sold.. and today was the first of a wave of layoffs and I was one of them. Last day of the job is Aug 15.. last day in the house is Aug 24th. Last day in MA is Sept 3rd.

My horoscope said that today I would be "removed from my mundane and ordinary existence". hmmmm..

For me it is the best situation to happen, though the timing is really off. For my coworkers, my heart is breaking.

Wow, what a crappy day Kel.

On the bright side, you were going to quit your job anyway when you moved, right? At least this way you can get unemployment benefits for awhile.

And on the really bright side, you're going to get married girl!

Well, I was (move to vt, that is... lol No question over the married thing) .. though there are issues where Geof worked and we were in discussion over the situation. Now, I guess there is little need for discussion..

I did get a small severance as well, better than I ever thought I'd get, considering my 'length of service'.. so for me, it really is for the best.. I just feel so overwhelmed by everything that is happening right now... everything is happening TOO FAST & furious, after five years.. WHAM.. it's get moving NOW.

It just feels REALLY strange and quite stressful..

My desire to go to McDonalds and get a Quarter Pounder is HUGE tonight, too.

Step away from the Mickey D's and you wont get hurt. All things happen for a reason and they either make us stronger or more insane. In your case I am sure it will be stronger. Good luck with your new ventures and God will light that way for you. I am sorry it seems overwhelming right now but it will all work out the way it is suppose too. HUGS my friend and stay strong!!

Sounds like the start of an exciting adventure. I'm jealous about what your horoscope said. Mine read, "I wouldn't check the mailbox today if I were you!" Oh well. Happy trails!

ok...first of all. I LOVE your new avatar picture. You look smashing!
This does not help right now but everything happens for a reason. All will work out in the end (and all the other platitudes, etc)
You are such a strong, positive person that you will make lemonade out of this lemon for sure!

I had to make it my avatar... deb insisted after she saw the bigger ones I posted earlier.. I think she might've gotten rough with me if I didn't! lol.

Thanks! Its funny that people see me as positive and sunny (someone told me that the other day, LOL).. I'm known in RL as a worrier and a pessimist! I normally see things as half empty, not half full.. I *have* been working on trying to see things in a more positive light though.. perhaps you all are seeing that more than I can see it, like my weight loss- which is still somewhat hard to see to my eyes.

Ah sweetie, things will work out. Whenever I feel swamped with crap that comes about like a wicked tornado I think of a song sung by the Byrd's.

Words-adapted from the bible, book of Ecclesiastes
Music-Pete Seeger

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear its not too late

I hope your new life will be the beginning of wonderful opportunities and filled with much happiness. Difficult times like these will quickly fade away and be replaced by new adventures.
