ok, who started this gallbladder crap!!
I think it was jerseygirl but cant remember. So since the 4th of July I have been sicker than a dog. Vomiting, diareah, nasueas. Went to my ER near me on the 4th and they called it a gastric dysfuntion. So I went till Thursday, the 24th battling this crap. Finally told my husband I just wanted to lay down and die. It did not matter anymore. He wanted me to give it one more day, I couldn't and I drove with him 2 hours to Denver ER to see my surgeon. I was passing out, no strength, no will nothing. They took me right in did tests, ran 4 bags of iv fluids in 2 1/2 hours and I was still dehydrated. All labs looked good except dehydration, cat scan, nothing. Then my DR said to admit me just 3 hours in ER. They did not know what was happening. After the night of fluids and no relief they called in internal medicine, and the reg doc said lets do ultrasound of gallbladder, she sounds like my daughter last week. The went back and forth that ct showed nothing but he did the ultrasound anyway, Guess what gallstones. Just baby ones and not a definitive cause of my problems. So they scoped me and nothing there. So my dr gave me the choice, take the gallbladder and see or just wait and see. I said take the gallbladder. He said good choice. He also wanted to do exploritory surgery while in there just to make sure the ct had not missed nothing. Well the gallbladder even though only had small stones was really diseased. Everything else looked ok. So now I am on the missing gallbladders bench with 21 lbs yes I said it 21 lbs of fluid in me. I am up to 280 lbs as when I went into the ER I was 259lbs. Damn that is alot of fluid. But my problem is that I think I can get by with what I used to drink on a daily basis and that is not happening for me. I have got to get in 100 ozs a day and no less. This is the 3rd time I have been dehydrated in 7 months. This time I could have died. I hope everyone reads this and goes and gets their water. I am doing better but they say if I dont keep up my fluids my heart is going to give. Just being off the iv for 3 hours this morning sent my heart doing crazy things and they almost did not let me go after 5 days in the hospital. So now I am home and writing you guys to remind you how important your water really is. I don't want to be the one who died from gastric bypass because I didnt drink my water. I hope you are all well and I miss your support. Good luck everyone.

Yep, it was miss jerseygirl who starting this gallbladder crap!
I'm really glad they found out what was going on, Izzy and even more glad that your bariatric surgeon did your surgery. It was really comforting to know that my bariatric surgeon looked all around when he removed my gallbladder. I have this fear of an internal hernia and it was nice to know there wasn't any signs of one. I'm sure you feel much the same way.
Yep, staying hydrated is SO important. I have to admit there are days that I get so busy that I don't get in even my 64 oz. Today was one of those days. Thanks for the reminder. I've got a bottle of water in hand and I'm working at getting more in.
Take care and rest up. That gallbladder surgery can kinda knock you off your feet a bit but daily you should be feeling better.

Glad to hear you are doing better. I am concerned however that you went that long before getting help though. PLEASE make that 2 hour trip to your surgeon when something happens next time, k? We don't want to lose you!!!
Yes, getting those fluids in is VERY important. Your body needs it. Thanks for posting this. I hope someone learns from it.
FEEL BETTER!

Thanks, Beth, Deb and Duckie. I am trying to get in that water. It is so hard. I won't wait again. I know my body well and I knew it was almost too late. I think I just got so fixed on the damn numbers on my scale that I forgot to listen to me. I wanted to make that 100 lbs lost by now and it just wasn't working. I am going to leave my scale alone, or at least try to. I have all this fluid and gas in me now that I don't think I will ever make it to 100lb loss. But that is ok, I am getting better and stronger everyday and will do what I have to for me. I just thought I could make it without eating and drinking like some do and that is just not for me. I can not make it on 2 protein shakes a day and just eating dinner. I have to eat more and more often and drink a hell of alot more than some. I and everyone must realize that we are all different and this journey will be different for all of us in one way or the other. We have our support here, but what works for one will not work for the other. Listen to your body and your mind. It really does know what is best for you. So what if it takes me three years to lose what you did in six months. At least I know I did what was best for me. I did what was healthy for me. So good luck again to everyone and make sure you drink and listen. I hope you are all well.

I'm not sure who is losing weight not eating or drinking.. From journaling I know my stalls usually happen when I'm not eating or drinking ENOUGH.

Yep...jerseygirl just HAD to start it! I had only ONE gall-bladder "attack" so far (hurt like a b*tch too) but none since. Doctor said as long as I do NOT have any other issues I get to keep it...but if the gall-bladder starts "talking back"...it's outta here!
I'm glad you went to your doctors and had it taken care of! And you will lose that water weight gain...but your HAVE to eat AND drink in order to help your weight loss. I know that goes against everything we've been taught prior to WLS. And I love your attitude about reaching that 100 lbs lost. Each of us has their own journey...ours just might take a little bit longer (or shorter).
