Default Need advice on advice.....

Went to the family reunion today, and my Aunt was there and was asking me for some advice. She's 3 years out now and has gained back 10 pounds. Of course like all of us she's a little nervous about it.

I told her I would get her the site for the 5 day pouch test, and said she should make sure she was getting in all her protien and 4 bottles of water every day. I didn't think about water loading and I'll mention that to her as well. Oh yeah, the not drinking 1/2 an hour before meals? Is that right? and not drinking for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes after meals. Is that right? I know it varies with different doctors, but a rough guestimation would help.

Does anyone have any other "advice" I should pass on to her? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sharon

Hi Sharon, it sounds like you covered things pretty well. I would tell her just to stick to the four main things: Vitamins, Protein, Fluids, and Exercise. I made up a Mnemonic to help me remember them: VIPROFLEX.

I'm constantly asking myself which category my choices fit into--I don't ALWAYS make the exact right choice, but it helps me keep things in perspective so that I don't start gaining.

Thanks Mike! You're the best.

What about food journals/logs. I know I've seen on here a couple of times where there's a web site or something to help keep track of daily intake, exercise and such. Does anyone have that web site info?

Sharon

Sharon,

She can use http://www.fitday.com , and I've posted a bunch of web tools in this thread:

"Rock Your TOOL" the 21st Century Way...

I've added to it over the last few weeks, so there's more as you scroll down.

I have noticed that some people end up gaining some weight back. I noticed that some people hit an all time low and then their bodies get comfortable a bit higher. I for example hit 103 as my lowest weight....even lower at one point in the hospital, but I have leveled up to 110-115 and sometimes go up to 120. I don't think I was meant to stay as low as 103 and I didn't feel healthy there. Some of my friends have also done the same. They lost and then leveled up and maintained. The main focus is protein, water, vitamins, and exercise. I firmly believe our bodies will stay at a healthy weight if we follow the pouch rules. Protein first and then if there is room, a few carbs.

I heard that fitday.com is great to keep track of food intake.
