Thumbs up Obesity awreness walk

Cyndi Hollister (you guys may know her from east county) emailed me today about a Obesity awareness walk that is coming up. She states it is in a couple of months at least, and asked if I would be interested. She hasnt been able to post to ask herself.. so I thought I would give you guys the heads up and see if you may be down for that. Look for a post from Cyndi in the near future (ahem, get on it Cyndie ) with more details.

Do you guys know of a silk screener who we could get t-shirts made for those who want to do it? (For the events we have, walks we do)

Thanks guys n gals, easy does it!

Well I don't know a silk screener to do t-shirts but I would be more than happy to join in the walk. I look forward to that.

Default Obesity Awareness Walk

I would love to take part in a walk to bring awareness of obesity to light. Please let us all know when and where it is.

Exclamation Obesity awareness walk revisited

You can log onto www.walkfromobesity.com for more info. I for one am very interested in doing this walk, and would like to hear from others that our interested! You can get more info on the site, or i will bring flyers to the picnic on Sunday.
By the way I emailed Craig Whittgrove, he is the guy organinzing the walk for SD, I asked him for more specific info, so as soon as I hear from him I will let you guys know. Craig is the brother to Dr. Whittgrove, he is the surgeon who did Carnie Wilson's surgery. Let's get together guys and outnumber their group 2 to 1! Are ya with me? Below I attached a chart (from the walk website) to help get our butts in great condition for the walk!

Thumbs up Great Idea!

This is a great idea, Bridget! I especially like the idea of getting t-shirts! I'd be happy to design something - there is a way to design a t-shirt decal and print it onto special paper that you can iron onto any shirt. If we don't have access to a screen printer, we can always go the do-it-yourself route.

Bridget also suggested something like: "...IT WOULD BE COOL TO HAVE OUR NAME ACROSS THE BACK AT THE TOP AND THEN OUR PRE SX WEIGHT/CURRENT/GOAL, LIKE ON THE SITE..." I think those are excellent ideas! It will give us all a chance to strut our stuff!

I think that participating as "Team ThinnerTimes.com" would be a great continuation of all the support that we've all found here, and would represent both Dr. Callery's and Dr. Potts' patients. I'll look into what it takes to start a team and get back here with the info.

Exclamation Walk Info

Okay - the walk is $25 per person to register. Once we decide on a team name, we can all put that name in the appropriate section on the registration form. You get a free t-shirt for participating in the walk - so do we want to create something else? We could do:

- Placards to hang around our necks with string.
- A banner that has the team's total # of lbs lost on it.
- Pins or stickers that say something like: "Ask me how much I've lost!"
- Hats or visors.

The first thing we need to decide is what our team name will be, then we can brainstorm on other items as we get closer to the event day, 9/18/04. You have to register by 9/1/04 in order to participate.

I think I'm going to try and do the 1 mile Fun Run - WHOOHOO!

Smile Walking ideas

The walk is at mission bay, time and exact location I dont know yet. I havent heard back from Craig Whitgrove yet.

Barbara I say we make on our own t shirts..... I think it would be cool. So we can try to design something and then copy it onto that paper stuff. Thats a great idea. Yeah a think team thinnertimes.com is a great idea! Names and weight loss success on the back.... I dont wanna be like EVERYBODY else, this time I dontmind stnding out in a crowd... I wanna look special
What ya think girl?

Smile The walk

I've made lots of copies of registration forms to have available at the picnic, I hope to hear back from Craig to find out all those little details, before the picnic!
