Walk from Obesity...
Bridget,
I want to be there. Where do you send in a check to and for how much? Are we going to meet somewhere and go down together or just meet there?

The low down
Andi and all other friends~ I would love to carpool down there. Cyndie H is also going so I will discuss that with her as well. There are 2 options a 1 mile or 5k walk. I would like to do the 5k, but will do the 1 mile if nobody is up for the 5k. You can log onto www.walkfromobesity.com and download a registration sheet, it has the address for you to your mail your payment OR you can register on line. Whichever works best for you. For team name write in thinnertimes. Sound good? Let me know if you have anymore questions... I will email you my phone number and then if you want to discuss things we can! Talk to you soon!

The walk...
Bridget,
I don't know if I can walk 8 miles. 4 or 5 miles I could do, but I'm not sure about 8. I don't want to get out there and be stuck without a way back. I walked a 5k many years ago and was barely able to finish. The next day I couldn't move much. Granted I am in much better shape than I was then, but I'm not sure about my stamina level. Send me your phone number privately and we'll talk.

walk
i would like to do the walk. i would like to do the 5 k but 8 miles seems like a lot. even though i'm in good shape now by walking 3 miles four times a week and going to the gym the other 3 days a week i don't know if i could do 8 miles. i want to do more than a mile though, or it's not worth it for me. bridgett, i'm willing to try the 8 miles. my 3 miles is all up hill and this is probably all flat. e mail me privately and i'll give you my number and we can talk about it.

The walk...
Ok, I am a potato head. I looked at the wrong chart. 5K is only 3.1 miles. That is totally do-able. I'll certainly have to double check my facts before posting!

I'm Interested
Bridget:
I would like to participate in the walk on September 18. I can register online by September 1. I think we should do the 5K walk. I would also be interested in a team T-shirt, but I'm not very "crafty." Please let me know the plan and if I can help.
Thanks for organizing this.

Lets go a walkin'
Yeah Dara!!! im glad your doing it! Yup we are doing the 5k.... we are women hear us roar..... I dont see any guys volunteering... hehe.
I got get my thoughts together on who is going.... well check this out guys, I was talking with a friend of mine who walked last year and she said there were these gigantic woman againist WLS out there protesting. Chanting that we need to have fat acceptance. Anyways, I was thinking about making a sign with my before pictures and marching with it, you know me Im a rebel... "Im the only John Wayne left in this town!" (ha ha thats from my favorite song) So as far as the T shirt idea goes, we can get them made at t Shirt mart... How about this, I'll visit it and find out how much they are to make, and those of you who are going to do the walk please be at the 9/15/04 support group meeting then we can collect money for the T's if they are reasonable, and colaborate on carpooling, meeting spot, time, etc... who can make it and who cant? Let me know sisters! talk to you soon.
