I've done just about nothing but sleep since I came home yesterday. I keep waking up with bad cold chills, a headache, and a fever. Also, I noticed a lack of color in my lips, gums and hands today. I have an appointment with the surgeon in a few hours. Hopefully he'll tell me all is well and these are normal side effects. I am a little concerned that I'm still bleeding inside though. I've never seen anyone alive be this shade of white before.

I've been a bit of a failure on my sipping today. Mostly I just drank enough to get my pain medicine down and went directly back to sleep. I have had more sleep in the last 24 hours than I've had in all the days combined since Tuesday. I don't feel as well as I did when I came home, but I feel much better than I felt after the first round of sleep at home. I think I'm going to be ok, but even my level of optimism is starting to wear thin at this point. I am drained. I haven't reached the point of regrets yet, but I feel like I don't have much fight left if this doesn't get better soon.

Yes, I had antibiotics in the hospital.

Went to the doc's office today... turns out my appointment was for a freaking 'class'. Needless to say my exhausted self didn't stay till the end. I slept some more and actually ate a couple meals on time and am having a bit more energy. I think the key now is the same as for anyone else. I just need to get in my fluids and protein and build that strength back up.

Well, your earlier post sounded bad. Glad you are feeling better.

In your case, rest, sip, rest, sip, rest, walk, rest, repeat. Sip some protein in there. You don't want to end up being admitted for dehydraation. Set your alarm to make yourself sip a few ounces after a few hours. I know you need the rest, but you need liquids too.

Take care of yourself!!!
