Well here's the latest for today. This morning I threw up about 500ml of 'old blood'. After that I got a PICC line and more bloodwork which turned up some low numbers in something and they ordered 2 units of blood for me. I'm just finishing up the first one now and feeling quite a bit better than I was this morning!

My doctor thinks the bleeding stopped same day but that this big release from this morning was coming from my bowels as well as my stomach (sorry if it's TMI, it smelled like TMI too).

So the new estimate of when I'll be out is Sunday. It won't be earlier than then. They're keeping me much more comfortable here though than I could be at home I think. I've figured out the hospital bed fairly well and it's not causing me too much back pain.

Even after all this I still don't regret my choice. And I still got my clear liquids including crystal light today. My word I didn't know that Lemonade Crystal Light was made out of nectar from the gods!

Wow! What a difference a day makes. I got both of those units of blood, a hefty dose of pain medicine, and slept about 1 hour straight and I feel like a new woman right now.

I'm still hopeful for a Sunday discharge but I'm comfortable enough here, the staff is being so great that I'm not in a huge hurry to leave really.

I do wish I had a podmate here at the hospital today though. I am quite bored.

I'm finally getting in the groove of sip, sip, sip, walk, pee, blow, giggle, sip, giggle, knock over my oz cups, repeat though!

MoM is a tough woman (mik of magnesia). She kicked my butt finally last night and I think I got the rest of the old blood out of my system. I'm feeling better, still fatigued but I think the RNY by itself does that so I'm doing well all considered.

I *think* I may come home tonight. I hope I get to come home tonight. I am starting to get a bit stir-crazy around here and there's just nothing to do. My doc said he'd be doing rounds today late morning.

I had vanilla CIB today skim and protein powder in it. I am shocked how much I like it. I think I may be one of those crazy lucky ones that has the taste change for the better immediately post-op. I did change preferences in Crystal Light flavors though. I should have listened before buying so may pack of orange!

I have 20+ samples I ordered on vitalady.com and I'm hoping I will find one to actually enjoy! I'm even optimistic that I will enjoy some of them.

(and yes Josephine I am a dilaudid space case right now, so I'm sorry if some of my posts didn't make sense)

I'm home finally! Now the time for real sleep has come.

Having my first follow-up appointment tomorrow. Kinda weird to get discharged and have to be back in 24 hours.
