clothes shopping- ughhhh
What moron thought it would be a good idea for all the blouses in the fat lady section to have cap sleeves?
I mean, seriously? *I* don't want my fat old lady gramma arms flapping for the world to see.. *I* don't want to see it, for god sake.
I left the store so damn depressed.. I've got nothing to wear that fits and I've walked out of two different stores empty handed... these freakin' morons could make a bundle!
I even thought..okay..I'll get one of those shrug things.. but neither store had any and really, in 90+ degree weather, who wants to wear a sweater just cuz the stupid blouse has sleeves made for a six year old?
frickin-A I'm mad.

i liveeeeee in shrugs. lol
at my size now, 138lbs ,sz 4/6 & medium tops.. i still have the 'wings from hell' because my arms were chunky as helllll before.
3/4 sleeves work for me, or just suck it up with strapless/sleeveless.
good luck

I too get so depressed when clothes shopping even though I have lost weight. The clothes in our sizes look like they are for 6 year olds or 90 year olds.

Cap sleeves aren't flattering for anyone except a skinny-mini with very toned arms. They hit the upper arm at exactly the wrong spot. I accidentally grabbed a cap-sleeved t-shirt off a pile in a discount store a couple of weeks ago. I wore it out of desperation one day, but hated it, and I won't wear it again.
I have the same feeling about below-waist pants. Unless you're tiny with exactly zero extra body fat, those pants cause the dreaded muffin top!
I'm really, really thankful that my mom taught me how to sew, and when I am at goal weight I plan to make myself nice, 3/4-sleeved tops and dresses, and decent-fitting pants. To heck with silly, inappropriate, store-bought stuff!

I'm not sure what size you're wearing, but NY & Company has some cute short sleeved lightweight sweaters that are cute over everything, including a cap sleeved top. Here is the link. Size XL will fit up to a standard size 16-18.

I think the sleeve thing is one of the biggest challenges...not only in shirts but in dresses too. Why is like EVERY evening dress and summer dress completely sleeveless. I hate it.
Have you tried Target? I found some 3/4 sleeve t-shirts there this summer. They were super thin and lightweight, so I wear them under things.
Now that I'm getting smaller, my arms aren't as fat...but they still need to be covered because (like the other post on here) I have major bat wings.

I know what you mean ...
I went shopping the other day and YUKKKKKKK. Your choices of summer wear are: Sleeveless or sleevless. I was disgusted. I went to Target the other day and bought a couple of sleeveless/cap shirts to wear under a jacket at work. Otherwise I have some old --big shirts with sleeves. I did notice the other day that the fall stuff was coming in the stores. I saw sleeves. I hate the styles this year for summer. I have been doing weights every other day for my arms but they still have some good wings.
Sorry, for adding to your miseary. I am there to with summer top shopping.
Take Care!

OMG!! I hate the cap sleeve!! I have found GREAT stuff at local thrift stores.. they are like last years styles.. and such.. but with having to buy cloths so frequently... I have to save $$.. I bought a few things the other day.. new pair of jeans, and a few tops.. all still too small for me.. but I only paid about $5 for the lot of them. And 2 tops still had tags on them.

Polo shirts from Target as well as some hand me downs that I got from Lands End or LL Bean have been WONDERFUL. I'm very lucky that I don't have to dress for work but thats what I've basically lived in this summer. Khol's might have some stuff too but I didn't look too hard. I live in southern Kansas so unfortunately I"ll be in short sleeves until probably November. It really stinks because all the cute fall stuff does me no good until it's almost winter.
