How I healed from RNY in a split second
Well, not really, but here's my story. I have a Yorkie and she had been staying at my mom and dad's while I recovered. Well she called me the other night at about 2am to tell me that Baby was throwing up, warm, and shivering. I had her bring her home to me, and I decided that she had to go to the ER. From that point on, I was HEALED! All I thought about was my poor little pitiful looking dog with the chills having a tummy ache. My aches and pains were obsolete. I got in the car with my dog on my lap and my mom drove us. She was given liquids and anti-nausea meds and she's now 100% fine!! I even drove home from the hospital that night (I wasn't drugged up)!
So, the moral of my little story is NOT to mope around the house while recovering from RNY. Get a dog. No, just kidding! LOL Keep yourself busy and think about other things and you will heal so much quicker!
Thanks for listening!
Here is a pic of her for your viewing pleasure. She's also currently in my avatar.

Well, she IS cute...but I don't think I could handle a dog AND a baby! (Though I'm sure the baby is WAY messier!)
Actually, we have two dogs, but we moved them up here four years ago to live with my in-laws while Liz and I packed up the house in NC. The rest is history--my father-in-law doesn't want to give them back!
Great picture!

Thanks! She's the love of my life. But, she is pretty messy! LOL Especially when she has poop stuck to her butt or she goes in the garbage and tears toilet paper up into a million pieces! She's gotten a hold of other things in the bathroom garbage can, but we won't even go there! LOL

I'm doing great Nicole, ty for asking. I spoke with the screening nurse (at my pcp's suggestion, he wouldnt refer me) and the surgeon had just gotten back from a seminar and WLS on organ transplant patients had been talked about there. I am waiting to hear something back from them.

Lily's new thing is playing in the toilet. It's driving Liz and I bananas! We're going to have to buy a lid lock or something!

I so agree! I have a 6 yr old dgt who's the love of my life, and up until the surgery, we swam, and played outside everyday! So since the surgery, she has been driving me crazy, wanting to swim go to the park, etc! ( we usually walk to these places) So I was so exhausted , ( I got my period the day after surgery, and wasn't taking iron, dumb me!) so I was really weak! I got my liquid iron yesterday took it and boy do I feel great! Today I focused on her, and things were soooo much better! I feel normal today! Thank God!
Congratulations Nicole, I'm glad you're doing great, and glad your baby is doing good! Keep up the good work girl! It will only get better tomorrow!
