R.I.P Bozo - ThinnerTimes

Sad news for those of us old enough to have watched Bozo the Clown in our youth. Apparently, Larry Harmon, who was behind the clown make-up and bright red-orange hair passed away. I believe it said he was 83.

As a child I rarely watched him....just couldn't quite warm up to his show....don't know why even to this day.

Reading about him brings back a few childhood memories of watching the old Packard-Bell black and white TV....shows like Ding Dong School, Captain Kangaroo, (and Mr. Greenjeans) Engineer Bill (red light, green light!) Romper Room, Felix the Cat (ugh, hated that one) Huckleberry Hound, another clown show I can't remember the name of at the moment and tons of other shows.

Ahhh, memories.....I've got a million of those memories on my mind....memories only make me old before my time.......

Yes, I just read this myself...

It brought up alot of memories of my childhood watching BOZO and all the other shows that came with it.

I was in the seats for 2 of his shows. Watching it live really ruined it for me...

I've read in the past that Harmon was mean-spirited off camera during the shows. What was it like to be in the audience? Did he show his other side then? How did it ruin the show for you?

i was a big bozo fan as a kid! wow thats sad an era coming to an end (i always thought he was alittle weird though)
