She was like a Dr. Suess book....

She did it on a deck, did it on a bed, heck...she probably did it on her head.

Cindy, I just love you!!!! Yes, Mama is still kicking!!! Actually, I went back to work today and all is well. The day flew by, it was very busy! I told most people what was going on, just that I'm tapering from Vicodin, and started Effexor, so that's why the doctor wrote me off work for last week. Some people thought I was on vacation, and I just let them think that. They asked me how my "vacation" was, and I said great!!! I go back to the doctor tomorrow for my weekly visit. I went last Weds, but this week he's only in tomorrow, so I'll go in and get my Rx for the next week, I think he's putting me to 6 a day, down from 10 of the Norco 5/325's. The Effexor seems to be doing fine as well. I'm taking 75 mg at 6am and 75mg at 6pm, no problems switching from Paxil to that...hopefully I am on the right track..chemically. I did go to a Dual Recovery meeting, and plan on going to those at least once a week...forever. I know I need to do that. Hubby and I took a walk after dinner tonight also. I'm trying to get some exercise, drink more water, less Starbucks, and do the right things for myself. Yes, I did drink a bit this weekend. Not the best thing probably, but hubby and I had fun!!! Like Cindy said, we did it on the deck, on the bed, but no, not standing on our head! We did do it Thurs night, Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning! Mama hasn't seen that much action in quite awhile!!! I'm not sure what got into us, but I'm not complaining, that's for sure!!! We shall see how this weekend goes. Perhaps it's the Gin that hubby had!! Or the margarita's I had...or the combo of that and the long weekend....who knows! Well, I've rambled on long enough....time for some tv and bed! xoxoxo

You lucky lucky woman. I keep telling my DH that I'm gonna get a younger boyfriend if he doesn't step up his game. This once a week crap is for the birds.

I'll tell ya Mama, it's not taking so much Vicodin that is helping your sex life. Yep....narcotics seem to vanish the sex drive. Just think, in a few months when you are off that crap, you'll be humping like rabbits! ROFL I'm proud of you g'friend! You're doing GREAT!

Hi Elaine,

I just got through reading all the posts in this thread and wanted to put in my 2 cents. I have a friend who is an alcoholic. She gave up drinking several years ago and quit smoking a couple years later. She has some physical problems that cause her to be in constant pain. She's had several surgeries to help, but they didn't. She then started taking percoset to help with the pain and became addicted. Well, a visitor at her house found the Rx and took more than half of them. She panicked, but then decided she had to give up the addiction because the doc wasn't going to write her another Rx. She tried cold turkey, but got very sick. Her doc put her on methadone. It worked for her and she gradually went off of that. She still suffers the pain but is hoping to have a nerve block to get rid of it.

I'm glad the Effexor is working for you and I wish you great success. I just thought I'd let you know about the methadone. It's not just for heroin and coke junkies. It's very effective for other addictions as well. Best of luck to you and keep up the good work. I know it's hell now, but things will be better for you.
