I am happy to hear that you know that you did wrong and have confessed and SEE that it was a problem.
I do not want to burst your bubble though... you can still cause yourself that liver damage. Those 5 you took today could do it... or another day when you take too much. At some point your liver is going to say "enough is enough". Be careful, you are playing russian roullette here. (You know me, I'm brutally honest. BUT I love you hon! I worry.)
Get back on and STAY ON that horse hon. You can do it.

It's very good to hear that you went out and attended a recovery meeting! I'm sad to hear of your setback but keep in mind that there is no more or less shame in utilizing inpatient help than outpatient help... it doesn't mean you have more or less of a 'problem'.
For some people the structure and intensity of inpatient treatment is a great resource. I was one of those people, I tried weaning with doctor supervision and it just didn't work for me. I spent almost 4 months doing inpatient treatment, meetings and therapy. What do you know, the world didn't stop turning when I dropped out of it for a few months to take care of myself!
As I said before, if you want to talk feel free to PM me.

Michelle, I love you, and do know what your saying....I may have dodged the bullet now, but can't go on like this....cuz' it's going to hit the fan if I keep this up, I can feel it!! This is what kills me, is that I know better, we are a GI practice specializing in liver disease. I don't want to become one of our patients!!! When the liver fails, life as you know it is over. So, I'm determined not to do this to myself any more...and of course will have repeat labs done after this course of medication. I'm giving myself 5 days to stay on schedule with this taper she has me on, and if I can't, then I'm going in-pt and getting it done. I hate to spend the $500 co-pay and lose time at work, but I will do what I have to do to re-claim my life. I hate being dependent on pills! I am going to make an appointment with a psychiatrist and see what they have to say about the depression/panic/anxiety issues. Maybe the Paxil isn't the right medicine, and that's why I like the Vicodin, because it makes me feel good....I don't know. My doctor asked if I'm depressed, and I don't feel depressed, but something is wrong or I wouldn't be taking Vicodin like pez!!! So, without missing too much work, because Mama does have serious credit card debt, I will get through this and come out better for it. I am going to another meeting today. It's a noon meeting, and since I'm off, may as well go! There is one pretty much every day....so I think I will go as often as my work schedule permits. I'm off until Monday.....so have a few days to go to meetings, arrange an appt w/a psychiatrist, and stay on a healthy med schedule! Thanks for listening to me ramble...it helps just to type it all out to you....you'll be sick of hearing from me soon.....and pray for Monday when I'm back to work and off the internet!!!

Well, since you aren't tired of it....here's the latest.....the saga continues......
I woke up this morning....still feeling out of sorts....so decided to go see my regular pcp, Dr OGara. I'd seen Dr Capurro on Monday, but just didn't have the happy feelings from her, she was good, tough love and all, but still, I just didn't feel I was on the right track. I saw my Dr today and explained what was going on with me from last year until now. He listened, took notes, and had some thoughts....He said she never should have cut back my xanax....and she cut back the Vicodin way too much. After some discussion, we agreed that I should switch from Paxil to Effexor. I'm glad I'm off work the rest of the week because it takes a few days to get into my system and re-wire my brain. As you know, whenever you switch meds, you feel really weird at first...but after a few days, life is good again. (I took Effexor before surgery, and was doing very well with it, but had to stop it after surgery because I couldn't take anything extended release or capsules)..it was when they switched me from Effexor to Paxil that I started taking the Vicodin more and more...so, our thought is that the Paxil isn't working for me...and the "good feelings" I get from the Vicodin is what's got me hooked....so, I'm starting the Effexor immediate release, 75 mg, twice a day, starting tomorrow. He also has me taking Norco 5/325, which has the narcotic, but less Tylenol, so I can get off it slowly without liver damage, hopefully!!! I go see him once a week from now on, he'll taper me down slowly, and get me off the shit for good!!! I feel so much better now that I've seen him, and am going off the Paxil. I've known for a long time that it wasn't working for me, but wasn't sure what to do. Hopefully the Effexor won't make me sick. I guess there are some GI upset issues associated with it.....I will keep you posted. Tomorrow I will stay home all day and see how my body adjusts to the new meds! What a nightmare!!!!!! I hate this crap!!!!!!!!

you will feel so much better believe me.
I just recently self detoxed from about 4 tens a day.It was hell and I was a biotch.I was almost crapping myself at work and tired all the time. Now I feel great! I was only on them for about 2 weeks but I have done this a few times someone gives them to me when they get their prescription and it sucks. When I get it out of my life i feel so much better. My memory comes back.I am not racing around talking a mile a minute ...My head comes out of the fog.DO THIS MAMA!! I am telling you! It is worth it.I tried really hard to just focus on eating right and excersize. It gets so much easier after the first few days.It is your mind making you feel the pain. That gets better too believe it or not.Keep posting we are here for you! PM me if you need anything.I know that you can do this stay strong.
