Default This Sucks!!!

TODAY is my 6th month surgerversary!!! I guess I should be happy for the weight that I have lost, but it is so discouraging when the scale goes up instead of down. I am at 270lbs. I have gained 5 pounds since my last update of 267, then down 2lbs. I started this past week my aunt flo so I know that has something to do with it, but I am seriously thinking this is it. They say six months and thats it for the major loss. God I so wanted to be so much further down by now. I was so happy to see 267 and now it seems lost again. My sis in law is almost 4 months and she is down to 252 from 332lbs. I feel like a failure. I have so much more to lose and it just seems to not be happening for me. I really feel like giving up today. The ice cream and chips are so calling me. I think I already need some type of revision to make my pouch smaller. God please help me through this. Sorry for the rambling and belly aching but this is so damn depressing.

Izan,
You should have at least 3 or 4 more good losing months...at 1 year, My loss virtually STOPPED. I need to get more vigilant about what I am putting in my mouth. I am exercising 4-5 days a week...my advice, take big advantage of the next few months to lose as much as you can...oh and the ice cream? dump city, you'll want to DIE, don't do it! Good luck!

well i totally can understand. I just cry when i think of how slow i am compared to EVERYONE here! its aweful! i hear what my doctor says but theres nothing he can say to make me feel better when i see everyone here loosing so much faster. Nothing! I just wanna hug you and say i know where your at its very disheartening. Let me ask are you excersizing at all? i was told to do a experimental "stop' excersize about a month ago and thanks to that, i cant get myself to get back on the treadmill i'm sure we need to jumpstart the metabolizm again ya know. And if Lynda is right then i'm screwed too because i loose like 3 pounds a month I STILL HAVE 75 TO GO and if thats true i'm really depressed. I love ya Izzy you can do it, just keep at it move extra more see IF that does help

Izan,

I know how you feel...seriously everytime I thought I was done, I was in a super long stall. My longest stall was between 5 and 6 weeks. And if you look at a lot of the other people who started when I did they lost faster than me. Its hard NOT to compare yourself...everyone is different. Please try and stay focused. You owe it to yourself. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Evaluate what you are eating. If you are eating a few bad things here and there, don't beat yourself up...but know the weight loss will be slower...and just accept that fact. I ate (and eat) things sometimes I know I shouldn't..and I know the result was/is slower weight loss...and maybe less weight loss but for me, I was ok with that because I felt my eating was satisfying to me. I try and stay focused most of the time.

You're only 6 months out...things will still progress. Its up to you how far they will go. Its in your hands. You need to make sure you're doing everything you can to make it happen...

One more thing...you're doing great. Your weight loss is tremendous. So don't get down...and don't compare yourself to others.

Izan~ First off...I'm about 1 month after you..and I've lost 74 lbs so far and I'm pretty ecstatic..and you've lost 90 pounds! You are doing this! No disrespect to Lynda, but I do not believe that your weight loss is nearing the end...true, maybe the honeymoon phase is slowing...but we still have our tool! We need to exercise, eat right (not 100% perfect...'cause this is real life!), get in our protein on a regular basis along with our water consumption.

Godsblessedme~ My heart just goes out to you...you are so frustrated, I would be also! It really isn't fair to compare weight losses (it's hard not to I know)...but I know other's have lost more weight than I have but maybe they lost weight AND muscle...whereas I KNOW that I'm gaining muscle AND losing weight. So even though I may not have lost as much as someone else with comparable stats...I'm alot healthier in the long run.

I_love_Hello Kitty~ I agree with you totally! Everyone has their own journey to follow...some take longer than others...but you get out what efforts you put in.

Oh Izzy *hugs*

You've lost in 6 months what it took me about 8-9 to lose. You are not a failure, your pouch IS still working, and you CAN do this!

I promise you if you pushed your pouch or put something you shouldn't in there it would let you know... quickly!

Just keep going and doing the skills and you'll continue to succeed.

Default You're doing great!

Hey Izzy,

It is very easy to get depressed when you see your weightloss stall or go up; but definitely aunt flo has a major affect on that for me. I see every month my weight go up slightly but when aunt flo's gone those extra pounds leave and sometimes I see a loss of maybe even 1 or 2 more.

I feel like I've been a slow loser all along (except of course for right at the very beginning) but my physician keeps telling me how much healthier it is for me to lose this way as opposed to a major drop all at once. I also often look to LisaBoston for encouragement - she thought she was a slow loser too and now she's under her goal weight!

You're only a few pounds away from 100lbs lost! You are doing great so don't get down on yourself.

Hugs,
Kimberly

No disrespect taken, it's just that some people lose faster and easier than others...I think Izzy is doing awesome. Some journeys take longer than others, as always Your Mileage may vary. All I can relay is my personal experience.

Come on Girl!
Now is not the time to let the scale dictate your self-worth. Now is the time to turn this around and make the most of your tool. Forget the ice cream and crap ... take control ... show everyone who's boss. YOU! You're the BOSS!!
Get out there and walk further than you ever have. Swim more laps than you thought you ever could. Push yourself to be the best Izz ... don't sit there and let the scale push you around. Go back to the basics for a few days, tons of protein and liquids. Shake things up!!!

Sit down with a pen and paper ... write out some goals. New and exciting goals. Fun goals!
Just make sure they're obtainable. Pushing yourself to do better is a great thing, setting yourself up to fail isn't so good. Sweetie, we all know you can do this, and we're all here cheering you on!
Now get to work ... 'cuz we're just waiting to hear a whole lot of "Wow's" comming from you soon ...
